I recently had the bizarre experience of going to Manhattan after a wave of “boosters” had been rolled out. I remember standing on a crowded rooftop bar on top of a boutique hotel; attractive couples flirted at tabletops; singles crowded the cocktail area; the sun shone, and everything looked normal. But I kept having the disconcerting sense that I was standing inside a hologram. I could not figure out what was wrong, until I realized — it looked like a crowd, but it did not feel like a crowd. I could see the people, of course, all around me, but I could not feel that dense, joyful, passionate, sparky, fractious energy of a human crowd, pre-2020.

I checked on what it felt like while walking on the city streets, and my impression was confirmed. There they were, the usual Manhattan throngs, surging along the sidewalks — but they were like pictures, like brightly dressed ghosts. The massive energy field —that sense of an island as a pulsing human generator, the electricity that had galvanized generations of newcomers to Manhattan — that was simply gone.

Not only was that overall energy gone. I noticed too that, as Jamie Glazov and I discussed recently on his podcast, the “mojo”, the sexual energy, of Manhattan’s crowds, was gone as well.

Men and women — women and women, men and men — now barely looked at one another. That dance of attraction, that flash of flirtation, that sideways glance that the streets of Manhattan always yielded between passing strangers and have done since the city began — the play of sexuality itself — was so subdued or diluted as to be hard to sense or see at all.

Dr. Wolf needs to rule out other causes for her observations....inflation worries, counterfeit gender ideas, male/female interactions, setting, weather, time of day, etc can change a crowds mood. Simply observe the energy of a crowd exiting a stadium where the home team has won vs the home team losing for a good example of energy differences.
Jumping from a constellation of observations to zero in on one issue as the cause of the observation is not optimal. But LNP’s biological effects , metabolism, excretion, needs much further study.

"Schizophrenia" might be going too far, but it also occurred to me that Wolf may be experiencing changes in her own psychology rather than changes in outer reality, other people, and society in general. There are probably studies on this, but I would think that as we get older our basic perception of everyday reality changes in some subtle ways.

A few years after I retired, I noticed that my old workplace and the people in it acquired something of a dreamlike quality, as if it had lost some of its former reality. Also, as you get older, you are more likely to see the vanity of so many things that people occupy themselves with, and this may give the world a certain sense of unreality.

The vaccines were made from the genetic code China provided to vaccine manufacturers. We just assumed it was valid, safe, and not tampered with.

Moderna had a vaccine candidate by December, before the virus hit us, as I recall. It's cool they can prototype from a provided genetic signature in a day or two, but in this case, it was insane to trust it.
