President Biden on Wednesday said he would release 10 million more barrels of oil from the U.S.’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) in November in a move to counter raising gas prices again.
His decision was announced just hours after Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) said it would be cut oil production by 2 million barrels a day.
The cuts will restore the oil market for top producers like Saudi Arabia and Russia but are also expected to drive up costs at the pump globally.
But Biden’s attempt to circumvent the spike in gases prices expected to hit the market in time for the midterm elections may not prove all that effective.

You have to look at the big picture. Democrats don’t care about a strategic reserve of oil because they plan on shutting down the entire industry. The Left cheers the idea of running out of oil.
Half of that will go to CHY NA and Ukraine.

The SPR has now been depleted since President Biden took office from 640 million barrels to 450 million barrels. This depletion is consistent with recent history. Historically SPR volumes tended to grow during Republican administrations and to fall during Democratic administrations. That pattern has held true since 1980.

So 10M barrels of oil equates to approximately 13 hours of oil consumption.

The irresponsibility of using the strategic reserve to help Democrats in an election can’t be overstated.
