The U.S. is developing a plan of response to any potential use of nuclear weapons by Russia, U.S. National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said in an interview with CNN on Oct. 3.
“We are following this as closely as we can,” Kirby said.
“And we haven't seen anything that would make us change our strategic posture of containment. So I think you know that we take these threats seriously.”

What I do not get at all is how Russia thinks that nukes are going to help their situation in any way whatsoever. Just the threat of Putin using nukes removes all doubt that he’s a madman. It’s not like hes defending his country from certain defeat from overwhelming invading forces. His people are deserting him and hes threatening nukes???? Can someone please ‘splain the logic to me?

NATO is pretty much out of weapons they can give Ukraine, so now they have two choices - send in front-line weapons with NATO troops (no way to get the Ukrainians trained in time), or get the nuclear warfare started. Obviously we don’t know which they’ll choose, but my guess is that they’ll start with the Dirty Bomb option by setting one off in what is still Ukraine, and of course blame Russia. At that point, the conventional forces will move in.

I am hoping this will not happen. I put nothing past those scum in the White House. They are totally capable of doing anything to get what they want.
