Ukrainian troops 'break through Russian lines' near Kherson and continue advancing in the east - as Putin loses ground in three out of four regions he annexed last week

Ukrainian forces are advancing in the south and may have scored a major breakthrough of Russian lines as they also take more territory in the east.

Kyiv's troops are attacking down the west bank of the Dnipro River and have taken the town of Zolota Balka, it was reported Monday, amid claims from pro-Kremlin sources that troops had retreated as far as Dudchany, around 15 miles further south.

Kyiv's commanders saying troops are now attacking the town of Kreminna, in neighbouring Luhansk.

However, pro-Russia military bloggers were far more pessimistic - claiming Ukraine had scored a major breakthrough of the frontlines.

According to multiple accounts, Putin's troops have been forced to pull back to the town of Dudchany - meaning the Ukrainians had advanced around 20 miles.

If confirmed, it would be one of the largest breakthroughs in Kherson since Ukraine began its offensive in early August, and would be a heavy blow for Putin's men.

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away to the north east, Ukraine said it had captured the town of Torske. Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesman for Ukraine's eastern command, said troops are now attacking Russian units in Kreminna - located in neighbouring Luhansk.

Meanwhile more attacks were reported further to the north, heading east out of the city of Borova towards Svatove, which is also located in Luhansk.

Fifteen civil servants, politicians and company executives told The Telegraph that Putin is refusing to talk things through with his senior officials. 'There is a total lack of coordination. It's a mess. Putin tells everyone different things,' a source close to the government said.

Speaking about the Ukrainian rout of Russian troops that prompted Putin to make his nuclear threats and conscript civilians into the military, the source added: 'What were we doing in Kharkiv? No one has a clue.'

the difference between taking lands west of the dneiper and taking lands in the north east—is that once the Ukes expell the russians from the west side of the dneiper—the ukes can defend those lands with virtually no troops.

wheras in the northeast—those lands are vulnerable to russian attack from right across the border. so the ukes would need a lot of troops to defend them.

Indeed, Russians on the defensive. GG.

Hmmm, be warned though, History still serves valuable lessons.

All of you are aware what the Russians did to Napoleon on the defensive?

All of you are aware what the Russians did to Germany on the defensive?

Hmmm, indeed.

If you've studied any wars you will note that each side has victories and defeats along the line.

It's funny that Putin has not had any significant victories, his people and armies hate him, and he always at death's door, his machines of war are destroyed and all his generals have been killed along with most of his troops.

The stuff you and your Zelbots post constantly is the very definition of propaganda.

According to multiple accounts, Putin’s troops have been forced to pull back to the town of Dudchany - meaning the Ukrainians had advanced around 20 miles.

They only stopped because night fell, not because of something the Orcs did. Now Orcs desperately trying to get another airborne unit to replace the one they pulled or move the 7th north.

stop the fantasy threats

admit it, Russia should never have invaded in the first place

You are correct as the Russians learned ground taken is hard to hold esp when not your country. So yes the Ukrainians have to always worry about counter attack and I am sure you and I will disagree but I don’t think the Russians have the equipment and manpower to do this. The conscripts are just cannon fodder with no heart in this. Once they are hit with 182000 tungsten balls and their comrades are shredded will they stand and fight? Additionally it appears that Russia is pulling equipment and troops from all over the country leaving all those borders less protected and inviting other actors to start problems. Like Russia and Putin or not I think he made a big mistake. The question now is if Putin is in the hitler in the bunker mode now
