Sen. Rick Scott on Trump’s Rhetoric: ‘It’s Never Ever OK To Be a Racist’

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that “it’s never, ever OK to be a racist” when asked about former President Donald Trump’s comments about former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.

Anchor Dana Bash said, “I have to ask you about what appears to be a threat by former President Trump against your colleague, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell. Trump said, quote, ‘He has a death wish for supporting Democratic-sponsored bills.’ He also mocked McConnell’s wife and his own former transportation secretary as, quote, ‘China loving wife, Coco Chow.’ You’re a member of Senate GOP leadership. Are you okay with this?”

Senator Scott, being mildly rude and being racist are not usually the same thing. Mr. Trump speaks his mind, as he always has. He is focusing on actions taken by Mitch and his wife, not the fact that his wife is Chinese. Don’t be so eager to buy into that Dem narritive.

Well, Trump wasn’t being a racist, he was telling the truth, so forget that.

However, Chao was a member of Trump’s Cabinet. It sure does get old having to listen to Trump attack the RINOs he surrounded himself with. We’ve got an election coming up in 4 weeks. Trump needs to take a temporary break from attacking Republicans and focus on Dems.
