The New York attorney general is angling to get her case accusing Donald Trump and his company of fraud to trial by the end of next year - before the first primaries in the 2024 presidential election.
Letitia James´ office, which filed the lawsuit last week, assigned the case to a state court judge who repeatedly ruled against the former president in related subpoena disputes - including holding him in contempt, fining him $110,000 and forcing him to sit for a deposition.
Trump's lawyers are also objecting to Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron's continued involvement and accused Attorney General Letitia James´ office of attempting to 'judge shop' because, in paperwork seeking assignment of a judge, it noted Engoron's knowledge of the case and linked the lawsuit and subpoena disputes as 'related' matters.

Since Letitia actually campaigned on her promise to indict Trump, I am thinking she can be called as a witness, too.

Lactating Letitia must be receiving big bucks for her actions because normally she is lazy and doesn’t have the ambition to pursue prosecution at this scale.
Why isn’t Trump moving to have James’s office removed from the case as a result of her stated intention to target him based on his name?

There is nothing in either the US Code or the Constitution about "running for President", or, for that matter, about Presidential elections.
The Senate can bar Trump from being sworn in after he is impeached by the House, tried AND CONVICTED BY A 2/3 VOTE in the Senate, but that is the only LEGAL method to stop him.
Because he has shitty lawyers.
