For the first and likely only time before the November election, Gov. Greg Abbott and Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke are set to face off in a televised debate.
The two will appear onstage at 7 p.m. Central time Friday at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg.
The debate will be on local Nexstar television stations across the state, and The Texas Tribune will livestream the debate here.

Could only take it for 5 min..
Beto is the usual Dem pretty boy...or whatever he may be..
Yeah, it’s all uvalde. Just blame the cops and say, “they took him out with a civilian gun.”
Watched 5 minutes. Good old Robert needs drawing and quartering. But the same can be said about every modern Democrat politician. They are not human.
Biased beyond belief.
First half hour, moderators trying to get Abbott to say Uvalde was all his fault.
They then switched to how cruel Abbott won’t let people kill babies any more.
I won’t know what the rest is about. Gonna watch some Twilight Zone.
Some other time, please. I have some paint to watch drying.
I believe the word we’re looking for is milquetoast.
Compared to the Presidential debates, this is a cake walk and the lib media is being very fair. Abbott is calling out Beto’s lies. Beto has said nothing but I’ll do better. Abbott is winning this hands down.
If you watched it at all you were watching Twilight Zone.
lol
I heard Abbott and Beano O’Dork for a few minutes and thought about how Beano is out of his league......he’s a foul-mouthed moron!!
¡BICHO! (Looks like Bobby, Drives like Teddy, thinks like Karl)
Remember when, according to DemonRatz, “Cultural Appropriation” was a bad thing?
I’m offended that he’s pretending to be a Texan.
