Yet another former ally of Vladimir Putin has been found dead in mysterious circumstances.
Pavel Pchelnikov, 52, was the director of communications at Digital Logistics, a subsidiary of Russian Railways which was hacked by Ukrainians earlier this year.
Initial reports suggest he was killed by a gunshot wound after he was found dead on the balcony of his Moscow apartment at around 6:30am on Wednesday.
Authorities have labelled his death a suicide and refused to say anything further.
Local media said the circumstances behind the case ‘remain a mystery’.
Mr Pchelnikov boasted about being ‘the most experienced PR manager in the Russian Railways company’, and had shared snaps of himself on holiday with his family weeks earlier.
Open-source intelligence website Top Cargo 200 said Digital Logistics was reportedly being blamed by the Kremlin after servers were targeted by hackers from Ukraine, leading to delays in critical supplies getting to Russian troops.
Up to 15 oligarchs have been found dead in unexplained cases since the start of the year.
On Thursday, September 1, the chairman of Russian energy company Lukoil, Ravil Maganov, 67, was found dead after allegedly falling from a window on the 6th floor of a hospital in Moscow, where he was being treated.
Energy executive Ivan Pecorin, 39, was the next official to wind up dead after falling foul of the Kremin.
He grll to his death from a boat travelling at full speed on Saturday, September 12 near Russky Island in the Sea of Japan.

Russians who HATE Putin might as well accept the reality, just as the Reagan/Trump HATERS had to accept, which is that the country they live in will soon be a MUCH WEALTHIER country. In the case of Russia, it’s the tremendous resources in the new areas of Russia that the Neocons were kind enough to give Russia justification (at least as they see it) to incorporate today.
