If victorious, Christine Drazan will be the first Republican governor of Oregon in almost 40 years
With only six weeks to go before Election Day, polls show Republican gubernatorial nominee Christine Drazan is in a dead heat with the Democratic candidate as she tries to pull off an unlikely win in the race to lead Oregon. The November general election features Drazan, Democratic nominee Tina Kotek, and independent Betsy Johnson in one of the nation’s only all-women races, among serious contenders.
The Oregonian published a new poll conducted over the weekend showing Drazan capturing 32% of likely Oregon voters’ support, while Kotek sits at 31% and Johnson has the support of 18% of voters. The poll found nearly 15% of Oregon voters remain undecided.
Drazan’s statistical tie with Kotek shows there is a chance Oregonians could elect their first Republican governor since 1982. The women are familiar adversaries, after serving in the Oregon Legislature together over the past several years. Kotek served as the House Speaker in the Democrat-dominated Oregon Legislature, while Drazan led the Republican opposition as the minority leader.
The deeply blue state looks to be considering alternatives due to outgoing Democratic Gov. Kate Brown’s unpopularity among voters. Brown suffers from one of the highest disapproval ratings for governors in the country. This dissatisfaction might be causing problems for Kotek, who is a close ally of Brown…

It’s worse than that. We don’t use ballot boxes and voting machines.
We were the first to mandate all vote by mail.
That’s why nothing will change without a direct miracle from God.
Johnson is controlled opposition and was pumped up. If you consider the 18% this poll claims she holds as an Independent, that would equate to a monumental landslide for the Republican if the votes were split a more normal way. Almost no one voting for her would break for the Dem if another choice had to be made.
No one except the hardest of hard core brainwashed liberals in Oregon (and we have a lot of them) wants another Democrat governor right now. At this moment everyone in Oregon knows that an obvious majority of the population wants a bunch of policies reversed from what the Dems have been pushing. Oregon has a LARGE Independent voter base for many reasons and they all also know we need a break from the insanity of the straight Dem ticket. But our elections are very very controlled. I have doubts that there has been any meaningful voter choice here in the last 20 years.

We are about to discover how right you are. I remember hearing your Governor telling “We the People” how successful mail in voting has been in Oregone.
I hope there will be many UPSETS in November.
Polls are showing Betsey is taking two Dems for every Dem. Don’t know how any Repub can vote for her since she has been a Dem and rabid abortionist for 50 years.

It’s just that the winnable takeovers should take priority. Oz/Herschel has celebrity + his own money. Johnson in Wisconsin has incumbency. Masters and Laxalt are my beneficiaries. Still holding out on that General in NH.

Good luck finding any internals on that poll. Which makes me suspect The Oregano-onion is waving a red flag to Betsy voters.
At the next debate, someone needs to ask Kotex how she will provide enough electricity to power all the electric vehicles and furnaces.
