Under Attack for Cutting Taxes, UK’s New PM Liz Truss Hits Back
Breitbart ^ | 09/29/2022 | Jack Montgomery

Prime Minister Liz Truss has been on a media tour defending her tax-cutting ‘mini-budget’ amid fierce criticism from the left and central bankers.

Truss, who is attempting to boost growth by, among other things, cutting green levies and, controversially, the top 45 per cent rate of income tax for earnings over £150,000 — rather than the 40 per cent rate of income tax on earning from £50,000 to £150,000, which impacts mainly on the squeezed middle class — has been accused of “undercutting” the country’s central bank, which is largely unaccountable to the government, by Mark Carney, its former governor.

“fierce criticism from the left and central bankers.”

These critics should volunteer to have their own taxes raised. Lead by example.

Really want to piss off your petulant toddlers? Take away their favorite toys. Works for petulant teens, petulant employees and apparently petulant bankers too. Now if someone would only take away the toys of petulant politicians the world would be a better place.

She's under attack because the Pound has plummeted in value to the lowest level in history, the complete collapse of the home mortgage market (you literally cannot get a mortgage at all, at any interest rate), an energy crisis, a trade crisis, a stock market crash and the near collapse of the nation's pension system.

I don't see tax cuts being on that list.

That will prop up the economy in the short term, but lead to hyperinflation longer term, which I suspect is where we are ultimately heading (and not just the Brits). The only way to handle unpayable debt is to try and inflate it away.

You know a society is in very deep trouble when tax cuts bring that kind of invective. It is a nation that has been taken over by the parasites. I wish them the best but any nation that perverted is in extremis and has a very small chance of surviving.

It's better to have people keep their own money than to rely on the gov't.
If we want people to work and rebuild, it must be rewarding, not the fruits taken away to be given to someone else, after the gov't squander most of it.

Tax cuts while keeping or increasing spending is a recipe for disaster. Truss and her fool of a finance minister deserve to get punished here.

Speaking of the UK, get a load of this...

https://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/19964700/drivers-warned-of-legal-loophole-police-driveway/

If someone decides to park on your driveway, local government doesn’t want to know. And neither do the cops. If the culprit persists, homeowners are told to get a lawyer.

So much for private property.

Fight back, Liz, the good Liz, not the losing lunatic Cheney.

Be strong as Thatcher.

Update...

Rebel Tories demand MORE U-turns on 'mini-Budget' after plan to axe top 45p tax rate is ditched: Liz Truss CANCELS visit as 'contrite' Kwasi Kwarteng vows he WON'T quit ahead of crunch speech - while PM's ally says he warned Chancellor of market meltdown

The UK has the same problem we do. It's being run by its Deep State.

And get a load of how it's Deep State defines rich...

"The PM and Chancellor will no longer axe the 45p rate for people earning more than £150,000 a year..."

God help the UK. Especially since they don't have a Trump.
