Humiliated Putin will annex occupied Ukrainian regions in major speech TOMORROW – as his troops face 'imminent defeat' in key town amid rampaging Kyiv counter-attack

Vladimir Putin will formally annex occupied regions of Ukraine to Russian in a major speech tomorrow, the Kremlin has confirmed, as he attempts to regain the initiative after his forces suffered a humiliating rout earlier this month.

Putin's speech comes after Russian-backed proxy governments in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions held sham referendums earlier this week on whether to go ahead with the move.

Armed Russian soldiers taking ballot boxes door-to-door left the results in no doubt, and Ukraine along with its Western allies have vowed not to recognise the results.

But it still marks a turning point in the war because it will allow PUTIN TO SPIN THE LIE to his own people that any attack on those regions is an attack on Russia itself - paving the way for him to escalate, possibly as far as using nukes.

Ukraine has vowed to defy that threat is continuing to attack into those regions today, with a key town in Donetsk now all-but surrounded.

Lyman, which sits close to the Donets river, is being flanked from northwest and southeast, with Kyiv's troops having cut off all escape routes bar one.

Putin's forces are facing 'imminent defeat' in the town which is a key supply hub for troops in the region.

Taking the town would clear the way for Ukraine to attack into neighbouring Luhansk province - which is almost completely under Russian control.

Putin maintains that the ultimate goal of his 'special military operation' is the liberation of both Donetsk and Luhansk, and defeats there would make it impossible to spin the war as a success.

It comes off the back of a devastating Ukrainian counter-attack east out of Kharkiv earlier this month that returned thousands of square miles to Kyiv's control and buckled Russia's frontline.

I don’t see a lot of Freepers cheering anything about this conflict - which has been ongoing since 2014 and prior. ......I do see many Freepers who can and do identify ‘reality’ and not ‘wishful thinking’ as Zelensky and our media continue to splash in the news and across social media.

This was a very poor and costly attempt at taking down Russia for regime change and ultimatly control of Russia’s vast resources - with Zelensky and Biden leading the charge.

Your sheer laziness “triggered” me.

I used to manage people doing critical things, and if someone tried to pass that to me as any kind of feedback they would be out on their ass.

To quote Trump, “you’re fired”.

NoseWanking “The fact that they hold out for so long is by itself impressive.”

Yes it is impressive that Ukraine has not only held out for so long against the supposedly 2nd most powerful military in the world, but has actually pushed it back.

Looks like Russia’s military is more like the 12th most powerful after the USA, China, India, UK, France, Pakistan, Italy, Turkey, Japan, Australia, Spain

I never thought I would see a sizable minority of people here cheering for Russia, praising a Russian dictator and hoping for the downfall of NATO and the U.S. The QAnon thing seems to have damaged people’s brains.

You sound like a NY Times reporter. Full of BS straw men.

There are many valid reasons to be against NATO, as constructed post 1991. Just ask Henry Kissinger, Brent Scrowcroft or George Kennan.

Who is cheering for the "downfall of the USA?" We merely want our Constitutional Republic back - from the hands of socialist/globalist/anti-humanist social-engineers, who attempt coups against elected US Presidents, in the name of Russia war-mongering.

Finally, "QAnon" has always been a meme and slogan used by the idiot left to blanket-smear conservatives.

Why are you even here?

“And BTW MAGA by and large could care less what happens to Ukraine.”

Want to bet? You just said that Donald Trump (MAGA) could care less what happens to Ukraine. If he didn’t care what happens to Ukraine, why would he have said that Putin never would have invaded Ukraine during his (Trump’s) presidency? If Trump didn’t care about Ukraine, he wouldn’t care if Putin invaded it or not. So why would Trump make that statement?

Western culture, western media....do you really believe what they are telling you?

The Russians keep finding newbie UKronazis sealed into tanks and begging for help from Russians in tanks.

You are confused. Too much western war propaganda does that.

Russia is a third world shithole masquerading as a world power.

Russia was financially raped by the Bolsheviks (plus 40 million murdered as an extra bonus).

Then in the 1990s, it was financially raped for a second time by the "free market" oligarchs, who ending up owning most of the former Soviet state's assets (which should have been more equitably divided among the common people).

Russia is run by oligarch thugs. So is Ukraine. So is the West. We're all being financially raped, some of us more slowly.

Ukraine’s entire stock of tanks, armored vehicles and artillery was gone by the spring. Destroyed.

Ukraine is now a NATO army, supplied and kept alive by US money, trained at NATO bases, using NATO arms of all kinds, directed by NATO commanders, using NATO/US intelligence.

Ukraine is merely supplying the bodies for cannon fodder.

The idea they are “independent” and there is some kind of organized Ukraine army is utterly ridiculous.

“This is the real Russia which you clowns have decided is some kind of nationalist utopia.”

For those with a little time, I recommend going on Google Maps and using Street View in random Russian locations. Then draw your own conclusions about the claim that the country is “third world”. These days, you don’t need to rely on an anonymous poster to think for you.

This article is as ridiculous as this would be:

Humiliated, 3-0 Philadelphia Eagles held scoreless in the second half for second straight game

The Philadelphia Eagles remained undefeated on Sunday by beating the Washington Commanders 24-8 but were humiliated because they failed to score in the second half.

It was the second straight game the Eagles, who have won the last two games by a combined 33 points, failed to score in the last two quarters.

Russia doesn’t care if any nations accept or not - and neither do the people who voted for the annexation. Why should they? Most nations will just stay neutral when all is said and done.....after all it wasn’t THEIR military soldiers dying on the streets....right?

“Actually during WWII, the Nazis invaded more Ukrainian land mass than Russian land mass.”

While Ukraine is huge, the Germans invaded a greater area in Russia proper and the Caucasus (and even Crimea, because Crimea didn’t become a part of Ukraine until after the war, in 1954), up to the Volga. But, no doubt about it, Ukraine was a big chunk of the total area involved.

You ask.....” Why would Trump make that statement?”

Because he would have asked Putin what he wanted, and Zelensky as well, and done a deal between Ukraine and Russia leadership....and he would not have given up until there was one.
