I recall my brother in a hurricane 20 years ago in Vero Beach. He had just moved from Texas 6 months earlier. He called old contractor buddies in Dallas to buy up and load all of the lumber they could from Home Depot and bring it down. Those contractors made a couple of bucks over the next 6 months.
“Deathcounts are making the CNN production board room drool on the table.”
Deaths that come in their hundreds due to storm surge are of grave concern and are convenient fodder for Democrat-supporting media creeps to beat up on a Republican governor.
In the meantime, deaths that come in their hundreds of thousands due to inadvisedly-approved and -distributed mRNA gene therapy injections are not even allowed to be discussed.
The latter proves that the former is 100% politics and that a certain party is joyfully in bed with the father of lies.
Good luck, it sounds like you have a good plan.
FEMA doesn’t have nearly the AOR that most people think they do. That didn’t matter Bush/Katrina but it doesn’t change the facts.
At no time in Biden’s miserable life has he ever been able to take command of anything, let alone something like this. Even if the real work is being done by the unseen, unknown folks that do it every day, he’d still find a way to mess it up.
Time for the Coasties.
Sanibel will take a couple of years to get out from under this mess.
That’s it, right there.
Maybe he had the wrong number and was calling the dead Congresswoman's cell phone.
There has been similar problems in south Louisiana. The president of Jefferson Parish fled 60 miles north before Katrina, during another storm the president of another parish tried to resign as the storm began to impact his parish, and then there was the all star disaster of Mayor Nagin in NOLA.There are a lot of people who are very psychologically weak in the area and being as politicians live in a world of deals and blabbering the profession attracts a lot of this sort of weak and disorganized personalities.
They'll run ferries for the people, not sure about the cars.
When I heard the report I thought the same thing. Doesn’t know the number of deaths but almost guaranteed at least 200 death. What the hell.
Anyone monitoring DU?
I can only imagine the hate they’re spewing today.
The media hypes because that’s what sells.
There was panic displayed by some city/county officials and preparedness & grit by others.
The water will recede power will be restored and we will have more facts & less hype. Evacuation is not a panacea and people can be killed by mischance in times of extreme weather no matter what decisions are made. The is no certanty, predictions are inexact & flawed. Nature has the final say and man must cope.
It will be interesting to see how fast/slow FEMA responds under this dynamic...
“Sorry to bring up the political, but my guess is der Bidenfuhrer is to feeble and vindictive to take command of the Florida rescue”
To paraphrase Bush II
“Heck of a job Joey”
Excellent post.
Lee county leaders were a little too busy yesterday to stop and chat with a demented old man
