I would add the U.S. military officers who ordered the pipeline explosions should stand trial (international court) for their criminal involvement in an immoral and unlawful series of acts. Those explosions are an act of war against all European countries.
Keep in mind, Russia has committed NO ACT OF WAR against the United States.
Maybe Putin is depopulating his country so when the retaliatory nukes land there is no one left in Russia to kill.
There's also concern that Putin wants to use the annexation of territories to conscript men in the occupied territories.
There are reports that Russians have been going door to door taking the names of males in the occupied territories. Though it seems like they wouldn't have the manpower.
But he'd have to believe his own propaganda and referendum numbers to think that would work. More likely he would just be forcing a ton of Ukrainian into his forces where they could sabotage and fight from within their ranks.

Your cubicle seems to be all awake this morning.
Yeah, Joe is both stupid and nuts, and evil kind of just goes with the territory when one is both stupid and nuts.
Zelensky? On one hand he is a characiture, a blank canvas that his supporters and his detractors get to paint with whatever brushes they can bring to bear. On the other hand, he did not run away; he stayed and fought. He did not remove himself to some other country and run a government-in-exile. One has to admire him for that. But I do find him annoying. He’s an actor, but his stagecraft leaves much to be desired. Some nuance would help, but I don’t think he has it in him. If I were Ukrainian, he wouldn’t be my choice for leader. But, he is what they have, unless and until they want him gone. It’s up to the Ukrainian people.
I do want to point out one thing, though. There are a great many FReepers who are quick to slander him with juvenile labels; it is 7th grade stuff. But, see, they don’t like his standing up to Russia; it makes Russia look bad. They can’t really attack his actions as president because if the roles were reversed, and Ukraine had attacked Russia (not that it ever would), those same FReepers would be applauding Putin for doing what Zelensky is doing now. So, they resort to grade school snickerings, and brand him with immature epithets. Because, really, they are resorting to the oldest playbook there is: If you can’t beat him, slander him.
Compared to the brain trust in our Government that determines Foreign Policy, I will have to say Putin wins on the Sanity Scale.
