And yes, both pipelines were delivering 40% of Russia’s total exports to Europe, at 55 billion cubic meters per year for each pipeline.

So sure, Russia blew that up.

Germany and Russia have been blaming each other for just about everything, for a very long time. Both of them have committed atrocities, and denied it, blaming one another. In this case, I’d say the Biden Admin is to blame. Who has been pushing for all-out war since this shit started? And in the meantime, Joe empties our oil reserves, and sells it to communist China.

Biden threatened to blow up those pipelines on 2/7/2022 if Russia invaded Ukraine.

Both Nord Stream pipelines were blown up. The new one, that has not been certified, that has never been used. And the older one, that was delivering a reduced flow of Russian gas to Germany.

You have:
Nord Stream One (and)
Nord Stream Two

Nord 1 was capable of 55 billion cubic meters a year, don’t know how much was going through at this time.

Nord 2 capable of the 55 BCM also once on-line. They had to blow up both.

And both are expected to be ruined for good due to rusting inside the lines from seawater intrusion.

Agreed. I don’t think it makes sense for Russia to do it. They need the revenue and also the leverage against Europe. This kills both.

Probably because if they do not blame Germany, the US will cut off our gas supplies to them

We now apparently have the same power over Germany that Russia had only a few months ago.

For months, Rooskies have been trying to get the Germans to capitulate, by using Nord Stream 2. Which has two pipes within. One was blasted/ruptured and one remains intact for natural gas transport.

The good news is that there are two tubes in each Nord Stream. Three were blasted and ruptured, one remains intact in Nord Stream Two. Thus, one out of four pipes can be used today, to send Roooskie gaz to Germany.

"Someone would register that - satellite photo, radar screens of nearby ships, local seismic events, etc."

There's a delay in reporting military ship movements, but take note of the last position of the USS Kearsage here:

https://www.vesselmarinefinder.com/vessels/USS-Kearsarge-(LHD-3)/CURRENT-LOCATION/1/368702000

A description of the Kearsage's capabilities:

USS Kearsage

Not proof, but a plausible candidate.

"The only reason that I can think of is that they might want to frame the US for destroying it, and thereby split the Europeans"

The problem with this argument is that Russia already had an excellent tool at their disposal to split off Europeans from the US in the form of the pipeline gas deliveries itself. That's a very concrete and plain form of leverage, whereas an attempted false flag operation is much more iffy in how it would play out. And it involves damaging a very valuable system, another concrete loss from the Russian perspective to be balanced against any potential gain.

Kind of like the US did in 1964 in the Gulf of Tonkin.

Admission against interest.

Biden: "If Russia invades...There will no longer be a Nordsteam 2. We will bring an end to it."
Reporter: "How will you do that exactly, since the project and control of the project, is within Germany's control?"
Biden: "We will uhh...I promise you.. we will be able to do it."

“Admission against interest.”

How so? You incorrectly attributed my comment to Biden’s words; whereas I was drawing a parallel between a Russian attack on its own property (the pipelines), far away, and which caused very little damage to Russia itself; and the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin incident, which caused the US almost no damage at all (one 50-caliber bullet hole to the destroyer Maddox). But the US used that incident as a pretext to launch air strikes against North Vietnamese targets, and escalate the conflict in Vietnam, which set the stage for the massive US military involvement in that theater. My point being: If Russia was behind these pipeline attacks, could it be for the pretext to escalate the current war, just as the US used Tonkin?

BTW: I am familiar with your screen name. I read “Seven Days in May” when I was in high school (great story), and saw the movie several times (great movie).

I find it hard to believe any FReeper here believes the “It’s Russia, Russia, Russia” nonsense.

The article says "Russia...Russia...Russia" in the first 3 sentences. In fact, Russia is included in almost every sentence in the excerpt. When something has to be repeated over and over it's for a reason. Good call Bipolar Bob.
