The media and other Democrats come up with all sorts of ways to reduce inflation, but they ignore the elephant in the room.
First, they have a slush fund where they raise taxes, hand out mass subsidies to their political contributors and they falsely call it the Inflation Reduction Act. The only potential to reduce one component of inflation is down the road on prescription drug prices, which haven't been rising very fast compared to other necessities like food, gas, utilities, and housing.
Most of the poor already get their drugs for free so it doesn't help them, now or in the future. They also don’t have enough money to buy electric cars or solar panels no matter what the subsidy is.
Now, Chuck Todd is supporting the non-enforcement of immigration laws and pretends that more illegal immigrants will solve inflation.
I wonder if Todd understands that inflation was low when Trump was enforcing the law, we had far fewer illegal immigrants. Does he understand the inflationary pressures on food, housing, schools, hospitals, and other things when you flood the United States with millions of people when there are already shortages?
It appears that Todd, like most journalists who are campaigning for Democrats, has an elementary knowledge of economics and a very limited understanding of supply and demand. They certainly don't understand the difference between cost-push inflation and demand-pull inflation.
Another fallacy we hear is that getting rid of the tariffs will lower inflation. Inflation didn't go up with the tariffs so why would it go down without them?

Go back to Trump’s policies of smaller government, fewer regulations, more energy production and lower taxes that produced rapid real income growth for those at the bottom and low inflation.
Of course, the media and other Democrats have never cared about good results. They care about power.
finish the wall and close the border and LOTS of good stuff happens!
inflation goes down, wages go up, more job opportunities, more water, more electricity, less pollution, more public money to spend on infrastructure, smaller class sizes in schools, etc ect
Political power is derived from taking money from those that will not vote for you and giving it to those that will vote for you, be it direct to people or to corporations via contracts and tax breaks. Tyranny soon follows and the tyrants then do not give a damn about who votes for them as the vote no longer is important. The tyrant then controls the vote.
That is why our founders made us a collection of democratic REPUBLICS, as they recognized that the individual republic states were a counter balance to tyranny of central government. Our Republics are in danger of centralized federal government. It is tyranny a little bite at time.
It is really that simple.
Like racism, homophobia, children not learning their LGBTQs in school, inequity in the distribution of income, and a rising tide of fascism and theocracy in America.
(I think I touched most bases there...)
Drill baby drill! Everything hinges on energy prices. Not the unfounded fear of “Climate change “.
I sure am glad you mentioned climate change. I missed that in post # 4.
Correct.
But the same applies to all other goods.
The way to end inflation is to produce more goods, not just energy but ALL goods.
Inflation is caused by lots of people with lots of money chasing an insufficient amount of goods. Taking their money away from them does not cure the problem because there are other ways to obtain goods other than with money, so the goods still maintain a higher than normal demand and value.
The only way is to produce more.
If Trump were in power the first thing he would do is remove the unreasonable restraints on the production of goods and services.
that’s crazy talk...
The Democrats only know how to do two things:
1. Throw money at everything in sight and let sticky fingers catch much of it
2. Emulate or outright copy all that is created by the UK Labor party
At present in order to do either or both, the Democrats must continuously and vigorously Kiss Black Ass to hold on to the existentially required votes
More tariffs. Less income taxes.
Looks like the dog ate my tag line
Congress could cancel the $3 trillion in new spending they passed that caused the inflation and then override any EO from Biden and allow oil drilling and pipeline building.
Call it a national emergency and no judge could stop that and we would have much lower gas prices and inflation would be greatly reduce and the stock market would go way up.
Of course the democrats and rinos are against it all.
