Smells like NBC set Pat up for daring to appear in a photo hugging Margery Taylor Green.

Little Black Sambo got tired of the “Eeny, meeny, miney, mo” business and finally hollered: “Look, there’s a tiger! Go catch him!”

I didn't know Tiger was a racist term! We got to boycott the Detroit Tigers, LSU and other sports team that are nicknamed Tigers. We need to have Kellogg's get rid of Tony, he's racist!
🤓

According to Vox, the original version of this rhyme is “rooted in the slave trade,” and was not used by children but by slave-owners. “Tiger” in the rhyme was originally an “N-slur.” So the slave traders would catch them by the toe? and if he hollered they let him go?
Sounds legit. /s

Yes it was the N word who was caught by the toe in my early childhood here in the south. Brazil nuts were also known by that word with the accompanying toes. My parents did not allow us to repeat any of those things we learned on the schoolyard.

I’m surprised You Tube didn’t take it down yet. It’s funny... 🤓

I suppose it’s similar to the “sordid” history of ring around the posey which apparently was associated with death during the Bubonic Plague. Flowers to cover the smell of the dead, and “all falling down” = all dead.

In the southern regions, it was the N-word version exclusively. Oh, it was the California version too. I'm here to tell ya.
