Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sept. 26 granted full Russian citizenship to Edward Snowden, a former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor who leaked information about the U.S. agency’s widespread domestic surveillance operations during the Obama administration.
Snowden, 39, fled to Russia in 2013 from the United States after he posted secret files that revealed the NSA’s operations. U.S. authorities have for years sought to bring Snowden back and arrest him on espionage charges.

Mr. Snowden? Here’s your draft notice.
Funny.
Have him ride in a tank into the Ukraine front standing up and waving his arms to the Russian conscripts as they near the opposing troops. Like Patton he could inspire them.
He could PT in the US Army. The Russian Army boot camp would probably be fatal.
Excuse me... could not PT in the US Army.
Dang search didn’t work.
Mod, delete if you wish.
I suggest that you listen to Snowden himself and not form your opinions based on what you’ve heard other people claim he said. If only a small portion of his assertions about the NSA are true we’re in serious trouble. Unless you think that massive feral government surveillance of the citizenry is a good thing.
He didn’t “flee to Russia.” As I recall he got stuck in the Moscow airport while trying to transit from one location to another country. He found he couldn’t safely go any further without being apprehended by Capitol District enforcers. So he camped out in the airport for weeks and only gradually became resigned to staying in Moscow. Ironically it was the poor timing of US efforts to bring him down that forced his choice of where to call home.
I worked at NSA for 4 years - its not hearsay or some one else’s opinion. Deal with it.
NSA has been surveilling the US public since 1952 and AFSA before that - a matter of public record, should you care to look, instead of believing media smoke screens.
We were in serious trouble intel collection-wise - between the 1975 Church Committee and Snowjob, US intel collection has had to be rebuilt each time from scratch at the cost of billions of tax payer dollars. The human cost of his betrayal is beyond calculation; he has lots of blood on his hands, the hero does.
Heard the Orcs don’t even issue tourniquets because of extra training that would be involved.
Where can he run if the Putin regime collapses?
Iran? North Korea?
Maybe China will offer him a cot in a Worker's Dormitory?
And deserting to the enemy of the US to “expose” what we all already knew is beyond cowardice
He could’ve just as easily gotten whistleblower status and told a leaky congress critter

I heard this today on Bongino that the FBI whistleblower Bongino interviewed says the Bureau is no longer a criminal investigative agency but has become an intelligence gathering/terrorizing operation of the State. The motive behind it is that criminal investigations have a start and stop aspect to them while intelligence snooping has no statute of limitations to worry about. Think about it.
So you worked for an organization that has been surveilling citizens for a long time, in a supposedly free country, and you’re defending that? We’ve always been at war with Eastasia.
If you followed the Snowdon case AT ALL you would understand that he could see into ALL BRANCHES and there was No one trustworthy.
NO ONE. Think of that.
No one in THREE branches of government that would be able to manage WHISTLBLOWER safety.
The dirty we see now has been going on a long time. And they have been trying to kill Snowdon and Assagne s d anyone else who talks.
