Multiple polls out of Brazil this weekend show socialist former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva with a sizable lead against incumbent conservative Jair Bolsonaro, though not a big enough lead to deter a runoff vote.
Brazilians will go to the polls on Sunday to choose a president, but the winner will only move on to take over the top office in the country if he receives more than 50 percent of the vote. If not, the top two candidates – very likely to be Lula and Bolsonaro – will move on to a runoff election later this year.

I don’t think it’s all that complicated. You have a giant population of very poor people who believe they have no choice but to vote to whomever will promise them more goodies. Sound familiar?
This period in history will be remembered as the End of Democracy. No future stable government will ever again trust the easily misled sheep with any part of the leadership selection process - and unfortunately this means the smaller number of smarter and wiser citizens will have their voices canceled, too.

The Founding Fathers were very leery of ‘democracy’! Too much and you have mob rule and that’s where we are headed! We can thank Wilson, etc. and are educational system that makes equivalent republic with democracy.

More like hundreds of thousands. From what is reported the rallies are not in one city. Bolsonaro could be speaking in Rio and it is broadcast on large screens to other cities so people can attend near to where they live.

I don’t believe the polls, but I do believe the Left steals elections early and often.
The media there probably matches the election integrity. It is probably worse than out 2020 election fraud.
Latin America in general has already teetered on leftist anarchy in the name of “the people.” All that happens is some of The Left get rich, but the poor and middle class get screwed. Even Chile, the bastion of free markets in Latin America, is teetering on Socialist hell-making.
The USA is teetering on being Venezuela, thanks to our uber-rich Democrats.
