From a contact in Russia:
On mobilization in Russia

One of my friends got mobilized recently. He’s a mobile gamedev and a conscientious objector. So he tried to flee his city (Petrozavodsk) and drove to the nearest border (of Kazakhstan) but the seemingly endless traffic jam made him return in despair.

That’s how they caught him and transported to the nearest voenkomat. He couldn’t believe his eyes. There was a WW2 veteran standing in line as a volunteer. Soldiers were given out vatniks sheathed in camo print. Boots with so many holes that they looked like crocs and kits with personal hygiene items that included condoms. Yes, condoms. A Russian analogue of Durex - Gusarskiye so naturally they were also peppered w/ holes - a point of hearty laughter of everyone involved

They were to be transported in cargo section of soviet plane to Ukraine.

They were allowed to “relax” for a few hours before that - i.e get drunk/high out of their minds and listen to the instructions of the Politruk who riled them up by talking about beauty of the Ukrainian woman and prosperity of the average household.

The tattered drunks of all ages were all ears. “Listen up, scum. You’re about to fly first class to a western democracy. So do what you do best: destroy their livelihoods and make them pay for being better than us. We will defile their land because we can. First and foremost, we are Eurasianists. We’ve learned from the best: Mongols, fascists and communists. You don’t need any training - it’s in your blood. No need for fancy gear either. The strongest will survive and bring his enemies to heel” as my friend later recalled speech.

So obviously he was looking for a way to escape this. He stood up and said “I’m gay”. A crazed mob jumped him and beat him bloody. But he smiled the whole time, ignoring broken ribs and bruises. Nevertheless he persisted. He’s going to prison for life for his orientation instead.

Mobilization commissar shot:

A guy shot a local military commissar in Ust-Ilimsk of Irkustsk, Russia. Very interesting things are happening in Russia after the mobilization.

Mobilization center burned to ground:

Russian man backs up his car against the entrance of a mobilization center in the Volgograd region and starts throwing Molotov cocktails.

He managed to burn down the center.

All information about local draftees was kept on paper in the building, as Russia hasn’t digitized yet.

All according to plan.

More:

A Russian man lit himself on fire at a bus station in Ryazan while yelling he didn’t want to take part in the Ukraine war. Same morning as a military commandant overseeing the draft in a Siberian town was shot. Tensions high in Russia over mobilization.

The Putinists are already filling the keywords with falsehood doggerel keywords.

On the matter of Russians fleeing the callup, I agree with Estonia’s president when she said that she had no sympathy for them because they sat silently or openly supporting Russia’s invasion and only now are they “bothered” by it comes to them personally.

Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland have also closed the border due to Russian influx.

One of the problems now is wether Russia will ever approve an amnesty for the draft dodgers? Otherwise there is a whole lot of young Russian men that other countries will have to absorb. (Vietnam - Canada x100)

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/24/world/europe/ukraine-south-kherson-russia.html

The Ukrainian government does not usually disclose casualty figures, but the soldiers and commanders interviewed in the past week portrayed the battlefield losses as “high” and “massive.” They described large offensives in which columns of Ukrainian tanks and armored vehicles tried to cross open fields only to be pounded mercilessly by Russian artillery and blown up by Russian mines.

One Ukrainian soldier, speaking anonymously because he was not authorized to publicly discuss casualties, said that during a recent assault, “we lost 50 guys in two hours.” In another place, said the soldier, who works closely with different frontline units, “hundreds” of Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded while trying to take a single village, which is still in Russian hands.
