Hilary Fordwich expands on her takedown of CNN's Don Lemon on the topic of slavery and reparations with Newsmax's Rob Schmitt.

I think that either Lemon got instructions before the interview, or during the interview via earpiece to shut up and let her talk as part of the new policy at CNN
I say this because for years I’ve enjoyed watching Don Lemon interview people on CNN and it’s comical how, if they disagree and start saying things he doesn’t want to hear, he talks over them and tries to shut them down, not realizing he is not there to spar with them, but to ask questions. Sometimes he had even shut down the interview if he didn’t like where they were going.
If he was working under the old rules he would have done this sort of thing the moment the word “Africa” came out of her mouth. He didn’t. That exposed him. He had no retort.
“That’s an interesting discussion “.
Exactly! That made me laugh.
Seems Newsom should watch this?
The absolute best was when suggested that maybe the families of the English sailors who died stopping slavers should get reparations too.
Bkmk
Point of order, as fine as this put down is, I believe the Kingfom of Hungary outlawed slavery around 900 AD.
Thanks for posting this!
There’s nothing more hurtful and damaging to liberals than the truth. They live off of their filthy lies.
Boy, I hope we see/hear more of her; she was just great and literally left CNN talking head Don Lemon, speechless, a not so easy feat. Everyone needs to watch this video; short but oh so sweet!
“Point of order, as fine as this put down is, I believe the Kingfom of Hungary outlawed slavery around 900 AD.”
I wonder when slavery will be outlawed in Africa.
It’s the only place that still has slaves.
Watched the interview of Hilary Fordwich by Rob Schmitt and it was so interesting, it prompted some immediate research in three areas.....
1. Mansa Musa… He was the muslim king of Mali in the first part of the 1300s and is oft regarded as the wealthiest person who ever lived. His wealth came from the trade of gold, ivory and slaves. He apparently had 12,000 slaves for his own purpose so that should give some idea of the scope of his involvement in the slave trade. Here is more about Musa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mansa_Musa
2. The second thing Fordwich says which is certainly provocative is that if you are from European descent, you likely came from a history of slavery. This is because most of Europe was enslaved by the Romans.
3. The most interesting piece of history she mentioned was about Iceland ... Apparently DNA testing has revealed that 48% of all people in Iceland have Irish blood in them. Huh? Apparently when the Vikings settled in Iceland in around the 11th century, they had no women so where did they go to get women? They went to Ireland and bought women slaves and took them with them. Dublin at that time was the largest slave market in all of Western Europe? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_Ireland So.... Over the years, this idea of ‘Irish slaves’ has been debated a bunch and it seems that no historian likes the idea of white Europeans having a history of slavery that is somewhat equivalent to what went on in Africa so a new term has been invented.... this wasn’t slavery apparently, this was ‘indentured servitude’. Well ok then... I guess that explains and justifies it….. And where else did these Irish slaves end up? Well, West Indies, Barbados and America. Although there is debate about this, the first slaves in America were reported to be some Irish children. Here is a book that looks to be really interesting..... “The Irish Slaves: Slavery, indenture and Contract labor Among Irish Immigrants Paperback” – October 28, 2010 by Rhetta Akamatsu https://www.amazon.com/Irish-Slaves-indenture-Contract-Immigrants/dp/145630612X Check out this article about Irish slavery in the Americas... what a horrid history that no one wants to acknowledge even existed.... https://canadalibre.ca/en_anglais/divers/irish-the-forgotten-white-slaves/
A viral video that will live in great esteem. A perfect memorial to Don The Lemon’s career
Possible but I disagree. I don’t think they’re going to leash him that tightly. It’s just not practical in the fluid process of an interview. Rather, when one hears hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras. I think his little discourse was just his typical self-righteousness and pig ignorance, and that he was slammed down so hard and so fast he could think of no response. Because, you know, he’s also a dope
Yes while Europeans may have created a market to sell the slaves to, the overwhelming majority of slaves were capture and sold to the Europeans by Africans themselves…
And while not politically correct there were blacks in the Americas and Europe who were active slave traders, some quite successful ones.
And yes lets not forget slavery has been part of the human experience throughout written history until it was ended by those naughty white Europeans.
It still exists to this day in Muslim parts of the world
well, there’s China and the worldwide sex slave trade but yes Africa is wide open about it especially Libya( thanks Soetero and Hillary)
The reason I take the position I do is that I’ve watched him interview people like her. When things start going south, he starts talking over them incessantly and shutting them down. Either he is utterly ignorant of the “Africa was part of the slave trade” history or he’s been instructed to let her speak. That Because those are the only reasons I see that would cause him to violate his MO when she said “Africa”.
I suppose it’s also possible that her mentioning that she agreed regarding reparations that it threw him off and he did not see in time where she was headed.
She was great. One thing she didn’t mention, but is interesting, is slavery as indentured servitude. In ancient times, and maybe modern times, people would pay off their debts by voluntarily becoming a slave to their creditor. Slavery was a way of life and it came in all forms.
Certainly Africa has most of them but I’ll bet China and NoKo have quite a few.
