Russia came to us in December to negotiate and try to AVOID this war. All the Russians wanted was a guarantee Ukraine would remain neutral and the Minsk Agreement, which Ukraine signed, implemented. The agreement would have given the ethnic Russian part of the country US state-like power and ended the eight-year civil war. The requests were more than reasonablew.

That's hardly the sign of an aggressive nation seeking to grab land. The narrative you're peddling is a lie.
