Framing the Nov. 8 election for Pennsylvania governor as a fight against “dangerous extremism,” Democratic candidate Josh Shapiro spoke to 200 supporters Thursday afternoon in Bethlehem.
Shapiro, who is Pennsylvania’s attorney general, is running against Republican Sen. Doug Mastriano, whom Shapiro called out for his views on banning abortion & doubts about the 2020 presidential election.
This guy is the most dangerous, extreme candidate ever to run for governor of PA-and by the way the most dangerous & extreme running in the nation right now,” Shapiro said of his opponent, who campaigned in the Lehigh Valley with a Nazareth stop Aug. 23.
Speaking in the United Steelworkers Van Bittner Hall on E. Lehigh Street, Shapiro touted his record as AG, winning millions for Lehigh & Northampton counties in litigation over opioid painkillers, targeting abusive student-lending practices & overseeing the grand jury investigation that led to allegations of sexual abuse against priests.
“There is no fight I’m not willing to take on for the good people of PA,” he said.
Mastriano, who was President Trump’s pick in the Pennsylvania GOP primary for governor, is a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Army who served in Iraq & Afghanistan.
He opposes abortion rights with no exceptions, has spread conspiracy theories about the 2020 election & was outside the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 insurrection, The AP has reported.
He has sought to undercut Shapiro on his record, pointing to a statewide rise in murders since Shapiro became attorney general in 2017.
Shapiro on Thursday blasted Mastriano for marching on the Capitol while Congress & former Vice President Mike Pence were convening to certify the election of President Joe Biden.
The Democrat for governor criticized his opponent for posing in a Confederate uniform for a faculty photo at the Army War College.

“just was in Bethlehem...”

It’s full of liberal elites who work at Lehigh University.
“Dangerous extremism”? Seriously, this is getting freaking stupid. All the while Shapiro is letting violent criminals out of jail. Safe injection sites. Supports grooming. These people are freaking lying scumbags...
We have the same dem playbook acting out here in AZ against Kari Lake and Blake Masters. They use commercials and use words like “TOO EXTREME or DANGEROUS for ARIZONA”
Extremism: Democrats have to stay in the subjective mode, rather than the objective mode. They can’t touch objectivity, reality, and remind voters just how freaking stupid and traitorous they are.
“These people are freaking lying scumbags...”

They’re good at putting out ads full of lies that sound convincing.
As valid as an ad against Shapiro that would say:
So this Jew decides to prosecute a bunch of Catholic Priests and then runs for Governor on it.
Ok, Antisemite, you made your position clear, jackass.
Pennsylvanians need to get their Mastriano & Oz signs out. I hardly see any in Bethlehem.
This Jew!!??
BINGO! I'm right again, as usual, when it comes to predicting the actions of all Democrats/RINOs.
Since "January 6," I've been accurately predicting that all Democrat/RINO politicians will relentlessly bash all their Republican/conservative opponents for being "dangerously extremist" -- based on the "January 6" so-called "Republican insurrection against America" (with each Democrat/RINO politician uniquely adding his own special "my opponent is a Republican/MAGA traitor" icing on the cake, depending upon the location of the election contest).
And that Democrat Shapiro guy running for U.S. Senate from that state is once again proving my point. Literally EVERY Republican/conservative political candidate will have to face EXACTLY that kind of Democrat/RINO opposition and relentless "dangerous [Republican] extremist" charges. All Democrat/RINO candidates will directly link their Republican/conservative opponent to Trump (who all Democrats/RINOs consider "the greatest ever threat to our republic," in the very words of their RINO hero Dick Cheney). Mark my words.
You do realize many of your fellow Judeo-Christian American citizens are Jewish folks, right?
Yes, I do.
And I am 100% their friend and support Israel. Please re-read my comment instead of having a knee-jerk reaction.
Did you miss the first sentence?
As valid as an ad against Shapiro that would say:
Jeez. Once again, with feeling:
My first sentence:
As valid as an ad against Shapiro that would say:
Republicans need to put out an ad along the lines of...
They call us extremists but-
-They are the ones purposely ruining the economy for some ideological dogma. They don't care about your jobs, the price of your groceries or the cost of your car's gas.
-using federal agencies to bully and any political opposition that they don't approve.
- releasing criminals without prosecution into the streets to brutalize and victimize you. They care more for the thugs than for you.
If the GOP was not so focused on defeating conservatives or losing the election, they have a lot of material to work from.
