Every Chinese immigrant in any academic or scientific or manufacturing position should be assumed to be spying. The Chinese share an ethnic loyalty that is entirely alien, unheard of, even unfashionable, among Western whites.

I worked in a major industrial research lab that had many National Security/Military contracts as well as state of the art medical imaging and consumer products. There were many foreign nationals on the science staff, including China. They were not permitted to work on classified projects but they were on many other advanced technology teams. Many would eventually move back to China to work for the govt so we were essentially training them on how to do research and innovate. Basically we were paying them to learn our ways AND letting them know our latest results. Questioning management on the wisdom of this idiocy was either laughed off, or a warning about not causing “trouble”.
