The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

Catty-wampus, now that’s a term I haven’t heard in a good long while!
Just talked with my friend - lives in the Ft Myers area. He and the family are holed up at his work location, Lee County Electric Cooperative, on the top floor. Building looks substantial, but I bet the first floor will be flooded out soon.
Stay Safe!!! Prayers to all in the path of this beast!
Hope the place you’re in continues to have power!
Plant City is north of where landfall will be - but per the webcam I’m watching there, the wind and rain have really picked up in the last hour or two.
Winds from the northeast at 25 mph. That’s up about 15 mph since the middle of the night. Barometric pressure is 29.68 and dropping.
Some car traffic out there. Haven’t seen any CSX trains lately. As of last night, CSX had not closed any terminals but were restricting intermodals in and out of Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville.
“Any idea how insurance (doesn’t ) work here? “
My brother had to go into the pool a few years ago and was assigned to a North Carolina company. He got a check for the damages three weeks after hurricane hit.
That’s cheaper than I would have imagined. Still, the rider is about what it costs me to insure my 3000 sq ft home in Kentucky.

Hang on!
He might have made the right decision. Storm’s going in south of us.
I’m inland in a home that has a whole house generator. Power goes out and one second later the generator kicks in. You never know with these storms.
I once lost a contact during a hayride, then found it again after 20 minutes of searching, with a Bic lighter.

Florida homes are built to withstand hurricanes. We have a lot of rebates based on actual construction done. If you have an older house the rates would be higher.
My father was a DR and treated him and a neighbor on Siesta Key.
Almost a needle in a haystack!
O yah... yer cut off.
