The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

The SSTs are jet fuel for this storm. We can hope for wind shear and cold fronts. Maybe a blizzard.

Many thanks for your early heads up. This one they are expecting to be a category 3 and could hit anywhere in Florida. Channel 9 in Tampa Bay, just a few minutes ago, had the midpoint to the center of the "cone" right on Tampa. But he was careful to say it will probably move in the coming days.

As always, I want to thank you for your diligent reporting on the progress of the Florida hurricanes. You have no idea how helpful it is to all of us here on FR.

In scanning this post it seems that several Tampa Bay Freepers have the same feelings about the new meteorologist on WFLA TV as I do. He is terrible and we won’t watch WFLA on the 11 PM news any longer. After he tells about the local weather, you can count on him bringing some item that he can relate to climate change and he spends almost as much time on this as he does the local weather. I want Steve Jerve back.

That new weather jerk on WFLA is not welcome on our television, ever. What happened to the pretty young lady who trained under Jerve just before he left? I don’t get it. WFLA has had some really bad hires over the years. Sleezy Gayle Guyardo kept us away from WFLA early morning news. Somebody in this house actually called WFLA and told them to get her off the air one day. WFLA was inundated with call about her that day. Guyardo was clearly inebriated during Gasparilla coverage. She was slurring, fawning and slobbering all over her co-host. Ewwwwww. She denied being wasted on the air, and they kept her on the payroll. Oh well.
