House Republican leaders on Thursday morning unveiled to GOP members at a conference meeting the party’s new “Commitment to America” agenda, a core group of policies that fit on a pocket card designed to help them and their candidates communicate the GOP’s vision effectively in the midterm elections.
House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy and thirty or so of his colleagues will travel to the Pittsburgh area in Pennsylvania on Friday to formally roll out the vision to the American public, but members got a preview of it on Thursday morning in their conference meeting.

No tribunals?
I ain’t buying into it until they actually fulfill their previous failed promises, like repealing Obamacare and building the wall.
At this point I view these people no better than a lifetime alcoholic or drug addict who keeps saying “trust me, I’ll sober up this time!”
Promise just enough to keep idiots voting for them...
Can you say carrot, stick.
Rather late,to,roll this out. It should have been done a year ago.
This is the Republican version of sell a dream and never produce.
OK, yeah, sure.
They have no credibility. How about doing something to oppose the Rats for once?
How about coordinating with the your statehouses and fixing the election disaster, which is looming on the horizon again?
How about not just doing the hollow sloganeering like the "Contract with America" of the 1990s?
I see the hard-asses on here are out violating Reagan’s Eleventh Commandment yet again.
Personally, I prefer Rick Scott’s Eleven Point Plan to this “Commitment to America”, but that’s neither here nor there.
Job One is getting rid of as many democrat congressmen and senators on November 8th as possible, even if it means supporting the occasional Lindsey *spit* Graham or Kevin *puke* McCarthy.
We can talk about agendas and pubbies we hate AFTER the election.
FIRST we have to take control! Publicly bashing those who, despite their ideological impurity, still stand in opposition to the Pelosi/Schumer axis of evil, ain’t gonna help us win this war.
Hold your fire, boys.
Exactly!
As a group, our R's seem comfortable focusing on the less risky art of defense as best as they can but do very little in the way of regaining prior losses.
Thus, we continue to lose a little bit each cycle and are clearly drifting into a socialist-progressive state of affairs.
You might want to better understand the 11th Commandment before shooting off.
The commandment was intended by its original author to apply to "fellow Republican" politicians on the campaign trail, not to us ordinary voters "on here" who are charged with selecting the best candidates.
The 1994 Contract With America was presented on Sept. 28th. Much more fanfare and plenty of anticipation beforehand. Going back to the well is good but somehow they’r doing it wrong. The target group should be the minnelials under age 40 with 30+ years left of productivity. No rhyme/reason this time around.
The problem with this and Newt’s CWA was once the applause stops everyone reverts to their donors first, voters never mentality. Nothing has changed in 28 years.
Yes, this stuff is just more deflection so the gopers can continue politics as usual. Remember Gingrich’s bs ‘Contract with America’. More of the same crap.
That is the point, the Gopers don’t stand for anything but collecting payoffs from K Street.
‘Commitment to America’ sounds something an adulterous husband would come up with. Might want to consult with Trump, he’s good with catchy phrases.
