Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented a five-point “formula for peace” between him and invading Russia during the United Nations General Assembly debate on Wednesday, identifying the first step as “punishment.”
Zelensky addressed the forum from Kyiv, a move that the Assembly voted to allow by 101 members to seven. Zelensky named and shamed the seven — the communist nations of Belarus, Cuba, North Korea, Eritrea, Nicaragua, plus Russia and Russian proxy Bashar al-Assad’s Syria — accusing them of fearing his words.

This guy is like the neighborhood little punk kid who starts crap with everyone because he has 3 older brothers at home and threatens everyone saying he’ll have them beat you up if you don’t do what he wants.

The problem is....probably 95% of the population of Ukraine have Russians in their lineage, relatives living in Russia and/or friends in Russia. They frequently intermarry and we have several examples of that in our Town in Upstate NY.
Zelensky controls the media in Ukraine....just as Poroshenko did. He's a little dictator.
Russia will, in the end, probably be punished enough by a permanent 1/3 to 1/2 reduction in revenues,
from European countries not buying as much of its resources as before ...
which is good - less money for the malicious Russian War Machine
plus there will be a lasting international distrust and isolation
by the time this is all over, Russia will be a poorer and more-isolated country
I was thinking the same thing. If the powers that be would focus on preventing it from happening again it would be a much easier sell and easier to measure success. Same with the criminal system. I guess that's why I'm not a politician.
If he wants to punish the Russians, the time is now. They are right there on the battlefield. He can go chase them with his rifle and punish them.
And just like WWI, the more I learned about it, the more I just wound up hating everyone involved in it, on all sides.
When Zelensky demands “punishment” - all I can picture in my minds-eye is him in his latex cat-suit with heels, holding a whip.
