Michael Cohen: ‘Thank God’ New York AG James Filed Trump Lawsuit — Greatest ‘Props’

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen said Wednesday on CNN’s “Newsroom” that he thanks God for New York State Attorney General Letitia James because she filed a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump and his adult children.

Co-anchor Alisyn Camerota said, “She gave you credit which this investigation. I remember we all do when you testified in front yyyCamerota asked, “Can you just take us in the room with Donald Trump when he is claiming that his apartment is 30,000 square feet, but it is clearly 10,000 square feet, but he is filling the first out the paperwork and claiming that it’s three times the size, do you or does anyone in that room tell the emperor he has no clothes? How does he do that? What’s that conversation?”

James filed a CIVIL case against Trump - not even a Criminal case. She’s stretching some very general fraud laws to cover her civil case against Trump

I need some lawyer to explain to me how her case is not itself FRAUD and LAWFARE in itself

*She/NY State is not even interested party
*who was allegedly harmed by Trumps supposed “over-valuation” of his properties? If anything, he would be paying more tax on them.
*She is seeking $250mm in penalties - for what purpose/remedy?

I thought that had been made clear years ago....what financial institution would loan $$ that hasn’t already sent out their own people for appraisals? What a world it would be if we could all state an appraisal amount for our own properties - waltz into a bank and say, “this is what my property is worth.” Yes, sir - would you take a seat while we prepare the paperwork. I think probably politicians like the AG of NY are used to flouting their importance and would walk out with the $$ - no questions asked and that would be perfectly OK...

I thought it curious that no one is asking that question - did his property taxes go up based on his higher appraisal numbers or did they do what every other county/city does - DO THEIR OWN APPRAISALS!

Cohen got his law degree from Cooley law school, which is generally known in the legal community as the worst law school in the country. Nobody goes to Cooley if they can get in anywhere else. I’m sure Trump hired him because he was a useful idiot at the time.
