Russian-backed officials in several parts of Ukraine have announced plans to hold referenda on joining Russia. Ukraine has slammed the upcoming votes as fake attempt to legitimize Russia’s invasion and slammed the prospect of “sham” ballots.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on Russian producers of military equipment to up their production and supplies to Russian troops. Putin was also set to give a major speech to the country on Tuesday — only to later postpone it until Wednesday without explanation.

It is always difficult to determine reality during a war. Truth is a precious commodity, not to be wasted on the general population.
In an attempt to determine reality, we are often left to derive explanations from secondary events.
The call on Russian producers to up their production and supplies to Russian troops, is a significant item.
Who would believe, after seven months of warfare, where significant numbers of vital pieces of equipment have been destroyed, this was not already happening?
The delay in a heavily advertised public speech is another significant event.
It signals to everyone, something major is going on. We do not know what, but it is a sign of significant change. It shows weakness of a sort, if only in the need to respond to some crises more important than to give a highly advertised speech. Something so urgent, it could not wait a couple of hours.
Are the two items linked? They may be, but it is difficult to tell.
It may be President Putin has been informed of a difficult truth, which he is not ready to share with the Russian public.

The 100s of hours of vids I’ve watched mostly in Donbas where most fighting is demonstrated the fighting infantry and tank wise was almost always militia Chechens and Wagner contractors with Russian air missies and arty support

This negates the Russian conscript abroad rule but I confess I have no clue what percentage are conscripts or volunteers

That Ukraine says won’t acknowledge it what a shock they have recognized any prior referendum either even when they were in control of the breakaways
What would anyone expect them to say
