Ukraine Aid Could Be on the Chopping Block in a GOP-Controlled House
YAHOO news ^ | 9/20/22 | Shannon Vavra

Democrats and Republicans have both been backing Ukraine aid for months now. But there’s a growing sense of unease on Capitol Hill that something could soon happen to disrupt that financial support: Republicans could win the House in November.

“I’m absolutely not supporting any further funding for Ukraine,” Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told The Daily Beast last week.

Dozens of Republican members of the House have already sought to throw up roadblocks to Ukraine aid packages. Fifty-seven Republicans tried blocking $40 billion in aid to Ukraine earlier this year, in addition to 11 Republican Senators. Not a single Democrat tried to stand in the way.

Should be spending in general, not only for Ukraine.

Defunding isn’t good enough.

Claw back every single dime paid out. Every single dime. That money belongs to the American people.

And we were beyond flat broke to begin with. We didn’t have that money to give away. That is borrowed money and a direct cause of the immediate inflation spike upon the Dems’ commitment to empty the treasury for this purpose and others.

I want to hear all these left-wing NGOs protest that they don’t have the money to give back because they already spent it on X, and to find out exactly what X is.

90% of the countless billions "going to Ukraine" are in reality going into the bank accounts of the bosses of the MIC.

Yup.
And we need our $70 billion back. Take over half of Ukraine, strip their assets and sell them, and then give their half country back to them.

I will argue that by the time Republicans have the ability to assert some control over Ukraine funding, Biden will have paid them enough to satisfy the quid pro quo for the money funneled through Hunter

I love that picture of Austin. It reminds me of the Kingfish and the Mystic Knights of the Sea.

Putin’s blunder into Ukraine is a historic opportunity to reign in Russian machinations world wide. There is a very good argument that support for Ukraine should continue to further bleed Russia and Putin. Exactly how much support Ukraine should be given is debatable, but completely abandoning Ukraine isn’t wise.

More than 50 million a Erica’s go hungry every year, b eing labelled as “food deprived” because they don’t have enough money to eat properly. In one of the richest nations on earth, this shouldn’t be happening, yet we throw tons of food away daily, and instead of working for solutions, we give money overseas to other nations that hate us- some for strategic purposes, but some like to the taliban, out of sheer ignorance. Then, we spend billions on illegals, feeding and housing them, while ignoring our own starving legal citizens.

Trump was about America first, and for some reason that Infuriated the left.

I would hope that once the Republicans get some power they will find out that ANY weapons sent to Ukraine today are being taking out of CURRENT STOCKS and thus are depleting our operational readiness, and that the backfilling of these weapons will take several years, at a minimum.

I do realize that right now the Republicans have some kind of ‘physical’ attraction towards Zelensky, but hopefully when they get some facts, they’ll be able to snap out of it and deal with the consequences of their ‘love’.

I can not think of one reason our resources should be sent to Ukraine.

You know the 50 million Americans 'go hungry' is BS. Obesity is a greater problem in the US vs hunger.

Being able to make claims like this is why the leftists are packing as many illiterate poor illegal aliens into the country as they can manage.

We gotta stop most foreign aid.
The Ukrainians seem to be advancing on the front, so they don’t need us.
The euros need to pick up support for Ukraine.
Ukraine is corrupt.
