Russian President Vladimir Putin had a meeting today with fellow autocrat Xi Jinping of China. Putin made a point of siding with China on the issue of Taiwan.
Given that many observers have drawn a connection between what Russia is doing in Ukraine now and what China would like to do in Taiwan as soon as possible, you might expect that President Xi would return the favor by offering some support for Russia. But that didn’t happen. On the contrary, Putin himself indicated that China had “concerns” and Xi completely avoided the topic.

That’s the coffin for the idiots here who told us the Russians were not losing and can’t lose, it’s all part of the plan, meatgrinder etc.
Now even Russia is admiting the losses and blaming its military.
Why didn’t they just hire the Putin Freepers to handle the war? They’ve never (admitted) a loss yet.
Wait...I thought the Russians were just waiting to send in the “varsity” ??
Xi is proibably looking at whether or not he could settle some matters in east Asia while the Russian army is in relatively poor shape. Among other thins he sees that Russian logistics are terrible at low levels and that with a few rail cuts the Russians would be really hurting. No need for an invasion fleet. No face off with the US or Japan. Good distraction from major economic problems. Real food for thought.

IMHO it is obvious that Putin met with China and had a weak hand, considering what is happening in the Ukraine.
I just saw a report that Xi’s meeting with Putin was not even mentioned on the news in Beijing.

Now that is a good question. Why aren’t they picking up weapons to go fight for their adopted (and in some cases real) Fatherland ? Putin needs bodies. They should just offer themselves.

Putin’s afraid of China. Now that he’s exposed Russia’s military weakness, he is frightened China will move for part of Siberia. But China’s actually in worse shape than Russia. It’s stupendously corrupt ponzi scheme economy is collapsing, as is its demographics also.
China’s done and so is Russia.

As the Russian economy cools they will gladly come to terms with their good friends in China. Such a deal.
The Chinese know all they have to do is wait it out, they have the time.
