Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) signaled Wednesday that she could back a side deal between Democratic leaders and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) if it is included in a Senate bill funding the government, setting up a potential clash with liberals in the debate over climate change.
“If the Senate passes a CR, we have to keep government open,” Pelosi told The Hill, referring to a continuing resolution — a stopgap funding measure to prevent a shutdown.

Well since Manchin is done for politically after this term since signed on to that hideous 800B green deal with 87k new IRS agents he’s free to really screw over his constituents.
Well if Manchin really believes he is done he becomes very dangerous.
I doubt very much that he thinks he's done. He exudes and aura of 'I can do whatever I want as long as I can wave some government money in front of the dopes who vote for me, even if it's not real money and they will never actually get it'.
And you know what? He exudes that because that plan has worked for him for years and years and years. Why would he think this time the jig is up?
Yes it does. He no longer needs to compromise to get reelected. He already killed his career after this term is up. Time to retire or learn to code.
For the country’s sake we better hope he thinks he can still win re-election.
