For The Love of God, Would You Please Stop Being Stupid?

Republicans/conservatives are in the habit of repeating the same mistakes over and over and over and over and over, and never learning from their mistakes, much less changing tactics. Their slogan is, “It didn’t work last time? Or the time before then? Or the time before that? Then we must try harder at doing the same thing!”.... Republicans did not fight in Alaska to prevent ranked-choice voting with the result that the Democrat who got 40% votes gets to be the representative, over the Republican candidates who got 60% of the vote

Whever the Democrats propose, it will have malevolent underpinnings. Count on it.

The GOP is useless…the only thing that can save then is MAGA candidates winning and taking over leadership.

Here is one on Tucker Carlson

It is not stupidity. It is collaboration. Republicans are perfectly satisfied with the Democrats being the Dominate Party. I.E. Democrats being in charge.

Why is the assumption they're being stupid?

For years it was "vote for the most electable cadidate", then "sure the most electable candidate sucks, but we all have to get behind them because the alternative is worse", ti now where its "since you didn't elect 'our' candidate, no funding or support'.

RCV was probably left alone in an effort to help Murkowski, who is one of 'their' candidates.

As soon as enough people realize that Republicans aren’t stupid, but complicit, things will change.

The democrats are pouring money into Maga candidates. They obviously want them to win the primaries to set up the election to be about Maga as a major threat to democracy and not the economy, empty shelves, high gas prices, runaway inflation, recession. They’ve set the table well. Question is will Maga counter this narrative in a coordinated way? Keri Lake is doing it in AZ but will other follow.

The RINOs can appear and act quite stupid when it is to their profit to do so.

I think the two party system is dead.

A Constitutional amendment to change to a parliamentary system would be a major pain, but it would be better than a civil war.

We need a full-put MAGA party, a middle/moderate party, and a leftist party, at the minimum. 2 parties doesn’t work, and hasn’t worked for a long time. People without a voice, both on left and on right, are dangerous because if no one is listening to them, what do they have to lose, but if their candidate is too far right (or left) for the mainstream of the party, or to ever get elected, they have NO say. Better a government with every major group having at least some chance of a say than picking between RINO/DINO uniparty twits.

A major shift, but I’ll take it over CW2, personally.

I equate the bush league chamber of commerce worshipping republiCAN’Ts to the old Detroit lions.
They don’t play to win.
They play not to lose.
Two completely different strategies.
MAGA plays to win.

Suggest if you like a multi party system that you move to Canada and live under one for a while.

THIS is one of many reasons why the GOP needs to be either purified or replaced. Without a driving thirst for victory at the leadership level, the GOP is without a reason for existence.

Compared to a choice between RINO/DINO uniparty scumbags.....

I’ve got plenty of friends who live in Canada, spare me your suggestions unless you want to hear some of mine.

and a leftist party

We don't need a leftist party at all, ever. Leftism is evil. It is also contrary to our Republican form of government, which is based on constitutionally limited government operating at the most local level possible, and maximum freedom of the individual citizen. Leftism proposes maximum government power and strictly limited individual freedom.

Leftism is treason.

Why is the assumption they're being stupid?

Because stupidity is a lot more common than the intelligence needed to come up with covert plans to work with the opposition. I have no doubt that establishment Republicans are, for the most part, complete fools.

If they had to espouse true leftism, instead of hiding in the penumbra of the uniparty, it would be easier to root out.

I believe in letting people tell you who they actually are.

I also believe in the dictum that I can be utterly offended and loath what someone says, but fight to the death for their right to say it, *NO MATTER WHAT*.

All views should be heard, always, by everyone.

Incapable of actually engaging with my point instead of tossing of a lame and stupid insult?

A parliamentary system beats CW2, and that’s where we’re headed with the idiotic 2 party system.
