When John Durham was assigned by the Justice Department in 2019 to examine the origins of the investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, President Donald Trump and his supporters expressed a belief that the inquiry would prove that a “deep state” conspiracy including top Obama-era officials had worked to sabotage him.
Now Durham appears to be winding down his three-year inquiry without anything close to the results Trump was seeking. The grand jury that Durham has recently used to hear evidence has expired, and while he could convene another, there are currently no plans to do so, three people familiar with the matter said.
Durham and his team are working to complete a final report by the end of the year, they said, and one of the lead prosecutors on his team is leaving for a job with a prominent law firm.

Durham was appointed by Barr to keep the rubes agog. He was never going to have an impact on corruption nor was he meant to. We were all played for fools by the Deep State. In a non-corrupt FedGov, Barr, Durham, Rosenstein et al would be themselves prosecuted and incarcerated.

As many of us predicted. Sloth Durham was put into place to protect and serve. . . Cankles. He was the final cleanup crew, tasked with dragging it out so that no charges could ever be made.
He’s as guilty as she is. Shame on people for supporting that toadstool as “trust the plan.”
I think the invention of nuclear weapons ended the state's willingness to let mere voters decides who sits in the Oval Office - puppet or not. Any President who slips past the gatekeepers and expresses even a modicum of independent thought was henceforth to be dealt with using non-electoral means. Election fraud - having been perfected over the pas decade - was much cleaner than assassination.
Obama was their dream President - he only cared about delivering fake health care and NCAA brackets and let the permanent state make all of the foreign policy and financial decisions for him. They wanted that back and could only get it through Biden - but the illusion that he is a freely elected and popular leader is much, much harder to hold up.
