Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday said his country has reclaimed 6,000 square kilometers of occupied territory from Russia in recent weeks as its troops push forward with a counteroffensive.
“From the beginning of September until today, our warriors have already liberated more than 6,000 square kilometers of the territory of Ukraine – in the east and south,” he said in an address to Ukrainians. “The movement of our troops continues.”

British intelligence: “Russia’s conventional force designed to counter NATO is severely weakened. It will likely take years for Russia to rebuild this capability.”

It’s a significant win, but it’s not over yet.
The Kherson sector will tell us a lot. If the Russians manage an organized retreat/fighting withdrawal in good order, the war will last a while.
If they break, like in the North, then the Russian Army is is going to have major problems.

I saw a good quote somewhere that speaks to the difference in motivation:
The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives, families and country, while the Russians are fighting for their salary.

Winter is coming. We know what happens to armies out in the field in that region when winter arrives.

Rebuilding is going to be tough. The Russians have been extraordinarily crappy at getting from "impressive prototype" to "mass production" of armored vehicles over the last few decades. Now, they're going to have to do that without a lot of the Western technological components on which they relied.
If they couldn't modernize their forces before the War, it's going to be even tougher afterwards.

With much reduced foreign markets for their weapons, it will be even harder to fund all that they need to do for their weapon industry.

That’s about 1.75 King Ranches worth of land.
It’s absolutely huge compared to where nearly two and a half million men fought at Verdun (and roughly 700k lost) but not impressive compared to the Eastern front in either 1 or 2, especially 2.

What...no photos of captured Russian military equipment, ammo or personnel?
Where’s all the stuff the Russians left behind?

The Ukrainians capture a city of about 45,000 and 25,000, abandoned villages and an area of little industrial value after the Russians made the decision to move their troops elsewhere. And, lost 2000 more men in the process.
But it was a "win" it allowed the Biden regime to pour more money into Ukraine (and launder it to the right places) under the premise that Ukraine was on the offensive.

What capability? They’re being beaten by a 3rd rate army! Puty made a huge mistake to the world.

6000 kilometers is a little less than twice the size of Rhode Island or about 2/3rds the size of Connecticut.
