Biden's EV Goals Are Under Threat By Nature
Carbuzz ^ | SEP. 07, 2022 | KARL FURLONG

Procuring enough critical materials for EV production is proving to be a challenge.

It's been just over a year since the Biden administration declared its goal for half of all vehicle sales in the US to be electric models by 2030, but it appears that the obstacles to achieving this feat may not be what we thought they were. Range anxiety, long charging times, and higher prices are common EV hurdles that have prevented many from taking the electric plunge, but a new report suggests that a shortage of the critical mineral lithium could stop that 2030 goal from happening. Besides lithium, there is also a potential shortage of copper which is used in EVs as a conductor.

This whole EV thing is a huge pipe dream. Ain’t gonna happen.

Problem is, they’re hell bent on trying. It will cause a whole lotta pain on citizens before it comes tumbling down.

Standard Lib program, remove current option and leave only their Kumbaya solution. Does not matter which area of life they want to change, remove current options and install the Kumbaya solution.

Most of us would call it the "Cortés burn his ships" method of change.

But it’s for the children? With more EVs needed, Congo needs more children to increase their mine product!

We have to get lithium from China and Russia. Russia won’t give it to us,and the Chinese are becoming less receptive to the idea as well.

EV will not work on a national basis. Period. God gave us the gift of hydrocarbons to harness for transportation. Use them.

"No Congolese Children used in production of this vehicle".

Volkswagen needd nickle for their EVs. So, they are going to clear-cut the Indonesian Rainforest and strip mine nickle latterites that wl be shoveled into huge coal fired ovens to smelt out nickle.

All this so Volkswagen can replace the most efficient deseil fleet in the world.

what problem?

only the rich and political elite will be able to afford personal transportation

charging times? they will have multiple EVs at their disposal

the serfs will not be able to afford green energy

for the serfs it will be bus subway bike or a good pair of sneakers

they promise the jetsons

you get the flintstones

I just bought a 250’ roll of 12-2 Romex for a project. The price was mildly eye-watering! $149.

And they’ve got the stuff locked up with chain, you have to get an associate to unlock, and they carry it to checkout for you. Apparently shrinkage is an issue with this stuff.

Consider that the California High-Speed Rail, a large state wide project to address the Climate. This was approved in 2008, anyone ride that train lately?

But once Biden starts his war against Russia and conquers them by invading over the winter, he will take their lithium and and just scare the lithium out of the Chinese.

C'mon man, Joe might end up with TOO MUCH lithium, Then what?

Actually, we have plenty of lithium

Production was curtailed simply because other sources were less expensive

Meanwhile, in Texas, Tesla is beginning to churn out EV’s in greater volume than all the rest put together. That includes presold Semis and pickups.

I am not an EV fan

There simply are not enough charging stations in place and there won't be by 2030. Also, the rare earth minerals currently used for battery production simply are not available in the quantities that Biden's proposal requires. You cannot legislate increases in supply if they simply are not available.

Charging lines are just going to get worse as people buy more EVs.
