‘Traitor to Our Cause’: Rick Scott Slams ‘Anonymous’ Republicans for Colluding with Media

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), slammed “anonymous” Republicans for pushing false establishment media narratives that could damage the Republican Party’s chances of retaking the Senate in November.

In a scathing letter on the subject to NRSC donors issued Thursday, Scott said it was “predictable” for the “vultures in the left-wing media” to roam “about trying to defeat” Republican candidates. “As always, they are being aided by the typical Washington ‘anonymous sources’ whose cowardice is only exceeded by their ignorance. … [A]ny so-called Republican who aids and abets the enemy is in fact trying to defeat Republican candidates and is a traitor to our cause. But these small people will not win.”

Scott’s strong words refer to the establishment wing of the GOP working with the media to discredit and trash-talk MAGA Republican candidates campaigning in swing states, who McConnell may not favor.

“As is predictable for this time of year, the vultures in the left-wing news media — The Washington Post, NY Times, CNN and the like — are roaming about trying to divide and defeat Republicans. As always, they are being aided by the typical Washington ‘anonymous sources’ whose cowardice is only exceeded by their ignorance,” Scott continued.

On Thursday, Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) spoke to the establishment media and hinted that Scott should fund the NRSC with personal money. It should be noted that McConnell’s net worth was estimated in 2018 to be $34,137,534. It is an “interesting idea” for Scott to fund the NRSC with his personal funds, McConnell told Punchbowl News.”

He is correct. However, I would call them assistant Democrats.

That Rick Scott is allowed by Mitch McConnell to head the NRSC tells you all you need to know about Rick Scott.

I would never give a penny to the NRSC or any other “Republican” PAC.

I only contribute directly to candidates I support so the Mitch McTurtles can’t sabotage them with my money.

Majority leader? Does he really fight or just strongly worded letters? I am not familiar with him in detail.

Why do people, including many on FR, keep referring to them as cowards? They know exactly what they are doing.

Why worry about anonymous "Republicans". If the old dominant media lack sources, they just make things up.

They lie all the time.

The NRSC is a picture perfect reason when viewed from any angle or reviewed by any metric, as to why the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed.

Our Founding Father’s were not stupid.

Angling for VP slot on a 2024 DeSantis ticket?

For those who may not recall, the Senator was Governor of Florida before DeSantis.

The Turdle* was far from anonymous when he threw a wet blanket on the Republican chances of taking the Senate and also threw shade on our candidates as being weak or unsuitable.

I also wonder about Rick Scott's bonafides in relation to swamp dwellers like Mitch McConnell, but I can say that except for his folding on guns after the Parkview shootings, he was a good governor for our fair state.

He has certainly stepped up his rhetoric lately -- one has to wonder if he's getting fed up, or emboldened by good men like Governor Ron DeSantis, or if it's just kabuki -- maybe a bit of all three, who knows? What will be telling if he is able to accomplish something tangible regarding the assistant-democrats that surround him on a daily basis there in the swamp.

I am surprised that when Rick Scott was CEO, the Columbia/HCA billing fraud scandal did not end with him in prison. I can see why Mitch McConnell wants to team with him.
