IF you raise “minimum wage’ $5 an hour-—ALL union contracts go up %5 an hour.

ALL OF THEM have such a clause—and have had for MANY years.

The United Auto Workers saw automation coming-—so in that contract—IF you are replaced by automation & cannot work elsewhere in the assembly plant-—you will draw 90% of your NET PAY every day you show up at the union building & sign in & stay all day—you can read or play poker—or what ever—but you get 90% of your NET PAY. Some have done this for many YEARS already.

Disagree-—

A doorman doesn’t need the skills of a machinist-—or a brain surgeon—or even a carpenter.

EV’s will kill the withering UAW in short order as GM and Ford lose the market margin share necessary to exist

I heard the Maharishi say that the minimum wage was tied to labor contracts.

HOW much do you think your next trip to your favorite fast food location will cost you???

So to you if an employee gets $22/hr then a hamburger will cost $22? Are you that daft?

I thought the topic in labor/management deliberations was always the maximum wage, not the minimum.

The correct minimum wage is $0.00. Any form of price controls is a completely unwarranted constraint on people’s right to make voluntary contracts. The original minimum wage was imposed to keep negros from competing with unions. Any form of price controls inevitably leads to lower productivity and less for everybody. The to improve people’s lives is to increase productivity, not suppress it.

I think this is a good idea. Takes this divisive issue off the political table. I am tired of Democrats using this issue as a tool to whip Republicans.

The inflation we are seeing has nothing to do with rising wages.

The minmum wage is a political weapon that hurts Republicans. My God do Republicans even know how backing the current MW is nothing but a joke? It makes Republicans fall into the Simon Legree stereo type created by the left.

The inflation we are seeing has everything to do with wasteful government redistribution. Price controls, whether on wages or goods is always, everywhere, and at all times counterproductive. There are no exceptions: it is the cure worse than the disease. The only way to increase “our” standard of living is to increase our productivity.
