Acclaimed Nova Scotia battle rapper Pat Stay was the victim of a fatal stabbing in downtown Halifax early Sunday.
Halifax Regional Police say an autopsy has determined he was the victim of a homicide.
Police said they were called to the 1600 block of Lower Water Street around 12:36 a.m. AT.
Stay was taken to hospital, where he later died.
Halifax Regional Police spokesperson Const. John MacLeod did not have any information about what led up to the stabbing or whether there were any witnesses.
The Dartmouth, N.S., man was revered for his work in rap battles, where two rappers confront each other in front of an audience using a mixture of boasts, insults and rhymes.
Stay had a large social media following and put out a new track two days ago that has already amassed more than 50,000 views on YouTube.

1. That was a very quick autopsy, and they needed to do that to verify a death from a stab wound or wounds? Weird.
2. I’m amazed there are any rappers left.

Saw something last night about ten folks being killed in Calgary(?) in a terroristic assault. Two guys with assault knives apparently. P.m. true-DOH needs to set this right. No one ‘needs’ a knife like that.

It wasn't Calgary, it was somewhere in Saskatchewan. Saw it on NHK, the Japanese news streaming channel, which I watch regularly because I can't stand the sanctimonious pricks that report the deep state news on our MSM.

Well, if they'd binned their knives like the government is asking, this wouldn't have happened:

First, what th heck is a “battle Rapper”?
Second, acclaimed by who?
Third, maybe Pat should have stayed away from rap, ya think?
Fourth, when knives are outlawed, only outlaws will have
knives

He had a long life for a rapper. 36 is probably too old to be rapping, but covering yourself in tattoos probably limits your job options.

Yeah, the term "battle rapper" is just a weird coincidence.

Thanks. I guess people watch those when “paint drying battles” get too boring.
