This morning, many people worldwide experienced Microsoft Defender warning them of a recurring virus threat. It's a false positive, and your computer is OK.
This morning, a listing in Microsoft Defender's database (or even Windows Update) is causing havoc on people's Windows PCs.
People on Reddit are "freaking out" over not just a reported threat from Microsoft Defender but one that keeps popping up and recurring despite the alleged threat being blocked.
The threat is revealed in a pop-up message noting that "Behavior:Win32/Hive.ZY" has been detected and is listed as "severe." However, after taking action to rectify the issue, it does not go away, and the user will keep receiving the same prompt. The reminder may return after 20 seconds, with the cycle repeating endlessly.

This morning Defender showed a notification of a threat but when I clicked on it, it said 0 threats found. *shrug*

It would probably be under “Protection History” on the Windows Security/Virus & Threat Protection settings screen.

I ignore all threats. There is nothing worth stealing on my browsing computer.

Same here. Good to read others have same problem.
I shut off threat notifications. It was getting annoying.

I got a suspicious notification from Windows yesterday telling me my security was turned off. Nothing was off. I ran a scan through Malwarebytes premium and it said it blocked a virus at that moment. Lots of disguises.

I get this warning message at least once a day. I think Bill Gates hates me.

Of course, they want us to believe that there is nothing to worry about a ZY file type.

Used laptops are very cheap on eBay.
Use a dedicated laptop to log on to your bank & brokers & investment outfits where your money resides.
By restricting connection to just a few web sites you r chances of virus risk are close to zero.
For browsing and paying utility bills etc use your regular computer. I have been doing this 22 years. My browsing computer was attacked by ransomware. I let out a loud laugh, formatted hard drive and installed fresh copies of software I use. My money laptop had zero issues.
