We’ve all repeated some form of tribal rhetoric because the underlying narrative came from people we strongly associate ourselves with. It becomes tribal rhetoric because it’s widely believed and accepted uncritically by those within the tribe.
I’d love, for example, to meet this mysterious black person I keep hearing about from politicians who is completely incapable of getting to the DMV to receive a photo ID.
When you apply critical thinking to the narrative that it’s racist to require people to provide photo ID to vote and it’s a Herculean effort for minorities to meet the request, you begin to realize how tribal thinking has perpetuated condescension of certain segments of our population.

I’ve heard this nonsense a thousand times - that blacks are “insulted” by condescending leftists constantly treating blacks as pets.
Its true, but it never changes black voting behavior.
Too many Democrats do a good job of pretending to not be racists.
It’s a white supremacist argument. Stating that you oppose voter ID because blacks are less capable of producing an ID than whites is a white supremacist argument.
Am I wrong? I don’t think this is hyperbole to say.

Socialists believe showing ID is acting white.
Like studying hard and getting good grades.
It’s very easy, and sometimes dangerous, to insult black people.
since they pushed this BS out again, here is my excellent post again:
Hey, Fetterman, what do the persons of color do when they stamp their feet and grimace instead of proving photo ID at:
Their old Blockbuster video VHS and the DVD places?
Bar or package liquor and beer purchase.
Bank transaction such as cash withdrawal, cashing check or opening an account.
Any UHaul or other truck rental place.
Writing and submitting a check.
Getting drugs at pharmacy, especially controlled substances, or setting up prescriptions for first time?
Getting hospital care or urgent care.
Getting license plates.
Blood tests and other tests at a lab or a hospital.
Renting a car.
Tickets and flight seating for an airline flight.

It’s not just black people. It’s anyone who came from a culture where their parents didn’t get a birth certificate, but instead recorded the birth in the family Bible.
That said, the number of people affected by this is quickly approaching zero.
I personally knew a black man who passed many, many years ago. He was couldn’t read or write, he was extremely poor, and on welfare. My family took him in during some hard times, and gave him odd jobs so he had some sense of accomplishment. He was an alcoholic, but darn if my family didn’t love and respect him. He signed his name with an X when his signature was needed. Even this man, God rest his soul, had a photo ID so that he could collect his welfare check. We never met his family who lived hundreds of miles away, and he would occasionally visit, maybe every few years. My dad always paid for his bus ticket so he could visit them. A very humble person. Even he had a photo id. The fact that the left persists with this idea that the unprivileged can’t get a photo ID is abominable. I mean, this guy was the epitome of what they suggest can’t get it done. Yes, he had help. They all have help! And he had his ID!! He was so proud of it, too!
If it’s true that the police will pull you over for “driving while black”, then I’d think black people would be darned sure they have their ID.
The soft bigotry of low expectations.
I have a couple black acquaintances and they get the bigotry. By the way, this is a recent thing for them. One started changing his mind when he began watching Steve Bannon.
It is insulting... and stupid. Black citizens can get an ID just like everyone else. Maybe White liberal "elites" do their voter fraud in the black community - and THEY'RE the people who don't want black citizens to have ID's.
