This is who our "betters" are.
The guide stopped and talked to her in a foreign language (Swahili?)...presumably negotiating a price. Next to her was a person whose gender or age I couldn't firmly establish...but he/she was young. This kid was *very* badly clothed, had orange/red hair,a huge belly and little stick legs. These are all signs of horrible malnutrition.
It's an image that will stay with me until my dying day. The whole encounter took less than a minute and after we drove away it occurred to me that I should have given them some money.I really wish I had.
After I just heard a story about how wonderful it is in Sri Lanka because now the people have to walk and ride bikes. There’s no food, no fuel, no money, BUT the people are much healthier now from all the extra exercise they’re getting.
Truth is the kid probably wouldn't have been helped one bit. When I was in the Navy I learned that begging children didn't necessarily get to keep any money you gave them so I would take them inside a restaurant and feed them.
It would appear that the author is not advocating world hunger; he wrote a book entitled, “Freedom from Want: The Human Right to Adequate Food.” He’s exposing the privileged classes who pretend to be concerned about world hunger and poverty.
Has anyone noticed that the majority of the un is third world, an aggregation of the most politically and economically undeveloped nations for a reason?
Islam.
It has to be a satirical Jonathan Swift style hoax, and a pretty good one too.
This has to be satire. No reasonable, imbedded functionary at an international organization would dare to spill the beans.
OTIOH, we are forcing citizen farmers into a peasantry.
If any of these idiots would read some history — e.g. the transformation of Italy from Roman citizens into subjects, they might see the real arc of history a bit more completely.
Years ago some sage of the left comment that the U.S. could never become a communist country as it had no proletariat because everyone (or, at least the great majority) was middle class. The solution was to create a proletariat.
Unnh, guess what happened and is happening.
But I could be wrong.
Philippines indeed, also Hong Kong roof tops back in the day, like 60 years ago next year. Japan was no powerhouse back then, we paid base workers $20.00 a month. Most of my memories a blurred now but most of them are fondly remembered even when they weren’t.
Everyone didn’t figure out a way to beat the system. They were offered a way to beat the system by the Biden Regime.
