Ahead of the Department of Justice’s filing Tuesday night that opposed President Trump’s call for a "special master" to review White House documents seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, seven former federal prosecutors filed an amicus brief asking a Florida federal judge to deny his request.
Former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, Donald B. Ayer, Gregory A. Brower, John J. Farmer Jr., Stuart M. Gerson, Peter D. Keisler, William F. Weld – who all served in Republican administrations – called Trump’s request a "waste of time."
The motion said the former prosecutors have a "special interest" in the case and "can provide assistance to the court."

Government oversight, checks and balances and the principle of a legal defense free of partiality is a waste of time. Got it.
LOL- sure Whitman- a never Trumper like you has credibility
Christine Todd Whitman, another Republican who makes me happy I’m not part of their team.
The Uniparty is going all out to try to prevent a special master from happening.
After all we can’t have non-corrupt judiciary members getting involved in the “case” and messing up the plans. /sarc

Bush League Republicans want Trump locked up as much as Democrats do.
He tried to stop the most important bipartisan policy of the last 30 years, the fundamental transformation of the USA into North Mexico.
Whtman was skipped when it came time for Trump to name people for important positions in his administration. She’s trying to get back at him. Nobody more fierce than a woman scorned. She will try again to see if she has a future in politics, perhaps even try again for the presidency, but, she’s done.
The last gasps of the gutted Bush/Cheney dynasty. Dusty old has beens know they’ll never get a cushy, no work, no show job under Trump.
That woman is a waste of time, space and skin.
And she just loves ABORTION, up til the time the kid is 18.
Check that out.
Damn without all these old time RINO ***holes running around defending the commie RATS, the RATS wouldn’t have anyone to defend them. I thought these people all were dead. Geez. Don’t tell me the RATS are not only using corpses to elect them, they are using the GOP corpses to give them credibility also.
Defending someones constitutional rights is never a waste of time.
Who cares what she thinks?

All of them are, to my best knowledge, card carrying GOPe and thus dedicated ADs (Assistant ‘D’onkey Party).
To the non-biased observer, a simple query helps clear the fog here. What HARM does having a ‘Special Master’ being appointed here? In that ancient Latin truism; “Cui bono” (who benefits) at the ABSENCE of such?
Waste of time? What is the hurry? At the very least, it would be in the government’s interest to have one to restore the appearance of a fair process. Why would the government oppose it? Do they have something to hide?
And conservatives are just as complacent about it, viz. we're not going to admit what's happening until Joseph Mengele sits down next to our gurney.
There’s no way the FBI wants someone in the midst of their photo-taking smear session.
Do these people ever shut up???
whitman?
who dug up that rino cadaver?
i love the clarity that Trump has brought to this fight
it is so easy to identify the enemy
