Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations are in decline. People are traveling, socializing and returning to workplaces in greater numbers.

But a group of people are still keeping mostly to themselves and taking other measures to minimize infection risks. Compromised immune systems and the risks of long Covid are among reasons they say they are maintaining caution.

I live in an over 55 community and some of the residents are frightened out of their minds. Some elderly couples are clutching each other when they go outside, fully masked. If you get too close to them, their eyes will widen in fear.

These folks typically have cable news on 24/7 in their homes and they literally think they are putting their lives at risk by going outdoors.

I do not think they have very long to live. Some of them have died already. What was supposed to have been the best years of their lives have been utterly destroyed as they live in total fear.

Regarding the excellent mail meme you posted....I said to a couple I know two years ago “so when all this “science” is debunked are the people responsible going to apologize?” They shot eye daggers at me and admonished me that her father died of covid....as if the two things were related. That sums up the left on covid. Madness.

I’m not a therapist; however, I will venture to speculate a lot of people have isolated and used the pandemic to do so because they are stuggling with issues that they would prefer to avoid people over to begin with. It is easier than confronting problems, atleast to some it seems that way.
