DETROIT – Detroit police want help identifying a suspect in four separate shootings that happened early Sunday morning.

According to Detroit police Chief James White, a 44-year-old woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds at 4:45 a.m. in the area of Wyoming and Margareta avenues. While police were investigating that shooting, a witness found a 28-year-old man who had been shot multiple times in the area of 7 Mile Road and Wyoming Avenue. At around 6:50 a.m. a woman in her 40s was found shot multiple times in the 19700 block of Livernois Avenue. At 7:10 a.m. a man was shot once when he noticed the suspect peering into vehicles and said something.

I know the general area, or did know it during growing up years. Wyoming is not far from the city of Dearborn, which is now heavily Muslim in population. Wyoming used to have a large high school called Mackenzie High School. Two of my sisters graduated from that back in early 70’s.

There was a Dairy Queen across the street.
Now, the Mackenzie school building has been torn down.
The Dairy Queen may still be there.
I would not be walking around that part of Wyoming at 4am.

This is going to end quickly as the people of Detroit go on full alert, watching for the suspect and cooperating 100% with law enforcement.

Suspect is a young African American man with some facial hair, wearing a hoodie and athletic shoes.

That really narrows it down in Detroit.

I went to Wayne State University 1964-1968 including delivering campus mail during the 1967 Detroit Riots. We had National Guardsmen with rifles at a 45 degree angle on the passenger side running board as I hopped out and back to deliver packages. He said: “Keep your eyes open for snipers. I’m not kidding.”

I got my pizza delivery job at an independently owned Italian family’s place.

The earlier delivery guy had been held up by two guys and had a blade held against his throat. “All I could remember was the blade felt so cold on my skin” the guy said, and he quit. I got the job.

Well, I’m younger. We evacuated to Grandpa and Grandma’s house in Redford Twp.

The roads were all blocked but the Guardsman looked in the car and saw a white woman with 3 kids and let us out.

My Grandfather came home from work at GM the main downtown plant and said the negros were crawling on their hands and knees in a big line across the street while a large group were waiting on the side of the road with weapons and bats (he said clubs, Liverpool Dude) daring anyone to hit the crawlers.

Dallas used to be the Same. South Dallas was where ALL the violent crime was. Now you can be shot pretty much everywhere is Dallas City limits with very few exceptions (old Big dollar estate neighborhoods.

Walk 1,000 foot outside of Dallas city limits and your odds of being shot drop 6X.
