AJO, Ariz. - A toddler and an infant were hospitalized after they were found abandoned by a Border Patrol agent in the southern Arizona desert.
The incident happened on Aug. 25 when an Ajo Border Patrol agent was informed by a group of arrested migrants that two children were traveling alone west of the Lukeville Port of Entry on the Organ Pipe Cactus Monument, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.
The Border Patrol agent immediately went to the area and found a 4-month-old child face down and unresponsive. An 18 month old was found crying nearby.
Emergency medical technicians were called to the scene by the agent, who began administering first aid and revived the 4 month old.
EMTs arrived at the scene and transported the children to the Abrazo West Hospital before being discharged back into Border Patrol custody.
"Yesterday smugglers left two young children—an infant and a toddler— in the Sonoran Desert to die," said Tucson Sector Border Patrol Chief John Modlin. "This is not just another example of smugglers exploiting migrants for money. This is cruelty. And it is gut-wrenching. I commend our agents for their quick response to this dreadful incident and to every incident in which migrant lives are at stake."
The children were later returned to Border Patrol officials, who were trying to urgently place them with the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which oversees the care of migrant children picked up in the U.S. without family.
It was not immediately clear if the smugglers blamed for abandoning the children were among those arrested. Authorities did not release any details about the children, including their genders, what country they came from and the identities of their parents or guardians.

Even when news media report the stories of children abandoned in the desert, the politicians never do anything about the problem.

I personally would not strive for “perfection” in killing Coyotes. If a Captain or a Major in a police organization could prove that some sob caught out on a ranch with women and children and he was a coyote..........then shoot him! That’s not a problem. If the do gooders want a trial, then give him one. Form a jury of six police officers who literally have “jury duty” and are obligated to go to locations on ranches by helicopter and adjudicate/execute on the spot.

Actually it was a good job, most of the time. We were not at a desk and the desert can be quite beautiful, we saw some amazing things there and, of course, blowing things up is always fun.
In the summer we tried to be on the range by 04:00 and starting off the range by 13:00. But when we got behind the schedule, we did what we needed to get back on the schedule before we turned over to the next two-week crew replacing us. We certainly didn’t want to leave the next crew with what we were supposed to have accomplished. If not, you better have a good reason and weather was not a reason.
When you describe it that way, I can see how the job would be enjoyable - far more interesting than office work.

Good family men don’t violate the laws of someone else’s country by entering that country uninvited ,
unwanted and demanding entitlements and welfare benefits they didn’t pay for and aren’t entitled to.
Good family men would, and need to stay in their own countries and man up and fix them instead of running away from them.
Every last legal or illegal immigrant needs to fix their own countries.
