Using a facemask to prevent the spread of an airborne upper respiratory virus is like using chicken wire to keep out mosquitos.
Those aren’t masks.
They’re muzzles.
And continuing proof, as if it were needed, that CoupFlu policy has NEVER been about public health anywhere on the frickin’ planet.
“Or the fact they don’t shake hands”
I’ve done my last fist bump. Anybody extending their hand in “fist bump” style gets my extended right hand, palm open in “hand shake” style. They can accept it...or not.
Maskerbation can be highly addictive.
where mask-wearing is a cultural norm
So if they worked you should see no Wuhan...or danged little of it...not a “lowering” of it...
I’ve lived in Japan for almost 37 years . The general populace is easily manipulated / controlled . I have given up many travel / party / concert / etc. opportunities because I will not wear a mask . The only time I’ve worn one is when I went in for my yearly ( free ) physical . No choice . Next door neighbor wears one outside when working alone in her garden . Another drives home from work alone and wears a mask for over 45 minutes in the car until she arrives . Kids playing in the park all wearing masks . They see me , and shout “ Where is your mask ? “ I tell them in Japanese that masks are useless and that I am a space alien so am immune to the virus .
I stopped reading when I got to New Zealand.
Same here in North Idaho. Went to Home Depot yesterday and saw two masked people out of hundreds. The North Idaho State Fair is in full swing across the street from HD and nobody walking to the fair had a mask on.
It is because there are no homeless people in those 3 countries. That improves hygiene and less virus is spread.
Or maybe it’s because those countries are densely populated and herd immu6took over.
Ok, now that's great.
Habitual mask wearing is a mental disorder. I can’t believe how many people are still clinging to these security blankets. Not only that, but there are still people who stand six feet apart at the register, still wear those latex cloves, still use the disinfectant wipes on a shopping cart, hell, I saw one woman with a wad of them and every time she took something off the shelf in the grocery store, she’d wipe it thoroughly before putting it in the cart. I wonder how much time she spent wiping down every inch of that cart before putting things into it. I didn’t stick around to see if she used self checkout, if she didn’t I’m guessing she freaked out when the cashier started touching all the items she spent needless time and energy on wiping them down. It’s frightening how paranoid these people have been trained to become.
Not buying a work of this. Show me the statistical analysis to back up these insane claims
No study has ever shown makes reduce transmission rates or improve outcomes for respiratory viral diseases, in any statistically significant way… NONE.
No, no they’re not. Proven to do nothing but make wearers sick.
Trying to stop a virus with a surgical mask is like trying to catch dust with chicken wire. I continue to be amazed by the number of people who are utterly clueless about how small viruses are.
I have never fist bumped anyone.
I’ll shake your hand. I might even hug you if you’re looking too sad that day.
It works for the really big mosquitos..
On my way home a few minutes ago I passed a yard sale. Yard sales are called yard sales because they’re outside, in a yard, yes? Ok, the woman running the yard sale is on her front lawn with all the items being sold. She has on a blue mask, she has one of those clear face shields covering her face, and, to complete the ensemble, she is wearing latex gloves. I don’t know what time the sale started, but, she was standing there, looking like an idiot, all by herself, SMH.
Untested
Unmasked
Un”vaxed”
Unbullied
and especially, live your life Unafraid
Math doesnâÂÂt support the thesis, unless you believe their masks filter bad strains relative to mild strains
Cases / million
Japan:âÂÂâÂÂâÂÂâÂÂ-146,073
Singapore:âÂÂâÂÂ-307,827
S Kore:âÂÂâÂÂâÂÂ-447,470
USA: âÂÂâÂÂ-âÂÂ-286;577
Deaths / million
Japan:âÂÂâÂÂâÂÂâÂÂâ—309
Singapore:âÂÂâÂÂâ—267
S Korea:âÂÂâÂÂâÂÂâ— 517
USA:âÂÂâÂÂâÂÂâÂÂâÂÂ-3,191
I used todayâÂÂs worldometer numbers and filled the math assuming USA at 335 million
Assuming the Worldometer statistics are close enough, mask wearing hasn’t made much difference in the number of cases in the USA versus Japan, Singapore and S Korea.
Cases per million population
Japan.........146,077
Singapore...307,827
S Korea......447,470
USA...........286,577
Deaths per million population
Japan..........309
Singapore...267
S Korea......517
USA........3,191
