It's that time of year when the dog days of summer give way to the excitement of going back to school. Children tow their parents through the store, on the hunt for trendy backpacks, lunchboxes, and outfits. Parents shell out thousands of dollars to make sure their children have everything they need, and much that they don't, for the coming year. The biggest concern of most families is that their child receives quality instruction while having an enjoyable experience in the classroom.
However, in Utah, parents of children attending William Penn Elementary near Salt Lake City got a nasty shock when a 4th-grade teacher announced on social media that it was her first year teaching at a majority White school and she was interested to see whether "posh white parents" would be opposed to her classroom, which was designed to cater to non-white students.

She’s just copying what is being done in advertising. I was shocked when I got a flyer in the mail the other day, and it featured a white family. They’re achieving their goal. They’re making it seem “unusual” for white people in advertising and other places.

I’m from Lima, O., and there is a word that describes women like her, but I can’t say it here...
My parents were both career schoolteachers in public schools. Dad held a Ph.D. in linguistics and mom held two masters degrees. Both would have been offended by this person’s attitude. Teachers should see kids, not color. Everyone was welcome. No one was better or worse.
I imagine that she’s a proud, card carrying NEA member.
Parent: "Ms. X., the decor in this classroom is more suited to second and first grade students. The alphabet in block letters, not even script, Clifford the Big Red Dog books, and, oh my, "Shaquita Does Detroit" are on the reading shelf, and no American flag, just this black flag with a fist on it."
Ms. X.: "What's wrong with that?"
Parent: "Fourth graders should be reading Tom Sawyer and doing long division. Do you teach that?"
Ms. X.: "Why, no. I am catering to non-white students. This is what I did for my fourth graders in my majority non-white school. So live with it or get out."
Parent: "It may be time to think about home schooling or a private school, then."
Ms. X.: "Suits me. Get out of my classroom, you fascist racist."

That’s the problem. That’s not true.
As long as you defend the falsehood, you can’t protect your own.
She doesn’t need to erase whites—practically all commercials and ads have already done it for her.
Is he/she/it White? Will he/she/it erase him/her/itself from the classroom?
