On Thursday’s broadcast of Bloomberg TV’s “Bloomberg Markets,” Education Secretary Miguel Cardona responded to criticism of President Joe Biden’s student loan program that it’s not fair to people who paid back their loans by saying that “If something happened where my neighbor needs help to get back on their feet, me feeling that they shouldn’t get help, that’s un-American.”
Bloomberg host and reporter David Westin asked, [relevant exchange begins around 9:45] “[D]o you have some sympathy for people who say, I paid back my loans and I didn’t get this kind of break. It’s not quite fair?”

If your neighbor needs help....GO HELP THEM YOURSELF....don’t expect everyone else to.
If Citizens weren’t getting taxed out of their trousers, they’d have plenty of charitable donations they could make to anyone they wished (including their own pathetic relatives who took out college loans to study Puppetry Arts and the like).
Leftists are always eager to teach us things.
Our Republic is a democracy. Patriots are “domestic terrorists.” Males can menstruate and have babies. A baby in a mother’s womb is a “mass of tissue” until the mother decides he or she is a baby later. Asking to have fair recounts and investigation of voting irregularities and rigged results is “overthrow.”
And to top it off they educate us about “unAmerican.”
Feel free to ask for help with your loan. Write up a nice plea on go fund me and perhaps somebody will help you if they feel you have a compelling story and are studying something potentially useful to the world, that would be very american
Being a dead-beat is un-American.
Government making these accursed loans in the first place is un-American.
The people that believe that it’s okay for “other people” to pay for someone’s debt can pay it themselves. But they won’t because they are the same idiots who believe that we should institute socialism here, as long as it is “other people” who are paying for it.
What about people who need help with car loans, Mr. Cardona?
Or people who need help with home repair loans?
Or people who need help with gambling loans?
Come on, Mr. Cardona. Show some compassion. Bail us all out.
The government could help a lot of people with their student loans by making them subject to bankruptcy.

Yeah, and I bought a whole bunch of things on my credit card that didn't pan out so good in the long run, can Sleepy Joe forgive my $10k in credit card bills?
If a friend of mine had a loan, and he was way behind on payments for bad luck, I would look at the situation and see if I could help him. But this voluntary co-operation is far from what Butt-Head just did.

They won’t stop until no one has anything except what the govt hands out. And to resist will be “un-American”.
The University/School should have to co-sign the loans. If their moron graduates can’t pay the loan, then they should be on the hook for it.
Maybe it would stop the offering of useless majors.
