FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. - The Rome Police Department said Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was a victim of a swatting attack early Wednesday morning in Floyd County.
Police said officers responded her home at around 1 a.m. after someone reported someone being shot multiple times, but determined that the call was a prank when they arrived. It's not clear how many officers responded.
Public records will provide the phone # and associated name to indicate who swatted her.
Those FBI guys are such pranksters.
Given how dangerous that is, there should really be very severe penalties for someone filing a false report that results in swatting.
They are really scared of her. MTG has to get a safe place to stay
I can’t understand how in a situation like this the cops cannot simply call the residence first . If I received a call in the middle of the night and someone told me my daughter that lives around the country corner from me had just been involved in some act of violence the first thing I would do would be to call her for confirmation . While the swatees were on the way to the residence a 911 person could easily find the number and make the call . Are they that stupid ? Well, they are gubmint are they not , heh .
Where did the word “swatting” come from and what does it mean? I can’t keep up with all these new terms created by our institutions of higher learning. Swatting like in flies? Help this old guy.

When you SWAT someone you place a bogus call to the police and say someone has been kidnapped or some other crime and the perps are still in the house. They send the low drag, high speed, special operators from the SWAT team to their house hoping that the cops will be stupid and careless and shoot the person you wanted SWATed.
There are some very sick individuals on the left in this country.
Swatting started being talked about maybe 10 years ago as a revenge prank that dumb teens/young adults were bragging about-online and elsewhere-which involves as prank 911 call to cops saying there is a shooter, etc at the intended victims’s address, causing an armed police response/SWAT team, etc. I thought themn it sounded dangerous-and I also read that an innocent person was shot by cops and died as a result of such a “prank” a few years ago. I also think it is now a crime-as it should be...

In her interview she said that she had a gut feeling not take her gun to the door with her like she does every time she answers the door. She said she has windows on either side of her door and police could see her as she turned a corner into the foyer. If she had taken her gun, and the police had shot her, it would not be the first time this happened in a swatting. And usually no harm no foul for the police.

Not advisable ... the perp could be the one answering the phone and say everything is ok while holding the family hostage, for example.
Sending out a SWAT team under false pretenses, when there is no emergency.
I remember the 80s sitcom SWAT! it was a good show and very popular, and then my high school science teacher used it to form a club, Science Watchers Acting Together (SWAT) lol.

Listening to MTG now. This is not about SWAT. This is an attempted assassination attempt.
The suspect called back claiming responsibility due to the fact they are a transactivist.
Here’s the the party begins.
This person should not be too difficult to track down.
* they knew her address
* they actually support mutilate children, and are probably pretty loud about it.
* probably politically active
* the call should be easily traceable (since the idiot called back).
Locals should be at the police station demanding answers.
Georgians should be all over this like bulldogs. (pun intended)
Oh, and to you limp-wristed Republicans, here’s a message for you: They already sent one their goons to open fire at a baseball game (remember that?). What happen to MTG can happen to any of you. I’d strongly suggest you elected officials push to make an example out of someone. Get answers, dammit!

Exactly...and if they can track down a couple of grannies that were near the Capitol on January 6; they can track down these bastards, as well.
That might work *once*. However, not only did the dumbasses call later to give their contact info, which sets them up for big time prosecution; but the police will not fall for that again.
